A truck carrying antiprotons will drive across Europe. A team at CERN just transported antimatter across the laboratory's campus in a truck. Literally. 92 antiprotons packed into a portable trap weighing one tonne. As everyone knows, antimatter annihilates on contact with ordinary matter - which is basically everything. Halo music composer Marty O'Donnell gives his thoughts on DEI in video games. What he says is true, especially about executives. "Are you going to tell a good story? Are you going to make a good game that’s fun for people? That’s what creators should be concerned about.” "We’ve had our share of, I guess I would have to say, diverse characters, but it wasn’t because we needed to make sure there was a certain percentage of you know ‘fill in the blank’. It was because these were like either great actors or this was going to be a great character.” “You have to understand that, especially in the big companies, the C-suite and the executives, all they are doing is looking at the bottom line. I honestly think a lot of these people are empty suits. They don’t actually have core values, so they adopt the core values of the moment to make sure they are on the ‘right’ side so they don’t get any sort of backlash.” I totally agree and have a lot of respect for @MartyTheElder for saying this. DEI is divisive and counterproductive. It exacerbates divisions rather than healing them and tends to increase prejudice and activate bigotry among people by bringing existing stereotypes to the top of their minds or by implanting new biases they had not previously held. Forced diversity kills art.
