Completely agree. Simulation has become a dark art in modern football. When refs let the game breathe like this, it rewards actual skill and athleticism instead of acting classes. Hope to see more of this kind of officiating in domestic leagues next season

🚨Thinking out loud. Credit to FIFA for the officiating in this tournament so far. Referees aren’t rewarding every dive, exaggerated fall, or bit of minimal contact. The focus has been on genuine fouls and letting the game flow. I’d love to see the Premier League and other domestic leagues adopt the same standard. Football is much better when players have to earn fouls instead of buying them.
