One thing to note. Argos can't play money games during three year transition period.

@BLester1993 I’m talking football so perhaps basketball (and other sports?) has different rules I’m not aware of.

@BLester1993 Are you 100% certain on this? Mercyhurst moved from D2 to FCS in 2024 and will play 3 FBS teams this season in year 3 of its transition.

NEW: The FCS Kickoff Classic is moving on from Montgomery, per Salute to Veterans Bowl officials. This game has been played at Cramton Bowl since 2017. @wsfa12news

The UAC will release its 2026 FB schedule Thursday with UWF included, reviving a rivalry series against UAC member West Georgia in the season finale. West Florida has claimed six DII national titles in five sports since 2011.

Missing from all the West Florida to FCS talk is the D2 to D1 moratorium until February 2027. Schools that have written correspondence before August 2025 can join, as noted in one of @MattBrownEP's newsletters. The ASUN and UWF (plus others) have been talking for a while. #FCS
