Sat down with my 9-year-old daughter today and had the talk no father should ever have to have. I told her to be wary of people who don’t look like us, because too many of them don’t share our values and some will do terrible things. I need her to be safe.

Today we announced our joint plan with France and other international partners to protect freedom of navigation. We need to see a return to peace and stability, and a permanent ceasefire.
