The plan was a massive failure. Within a few days in the summer of 2007, Hamas routed Dahlan’s forces. In 2025, Abbas issued a general pardon for expelled Fatah members, including Mohammed Dahlan, who had been sentenced in Ramallah by the Palestinian Authority for treason against Palestine and was moved out of Palestine to the UAE with CIA involvement.
