A little introduction to my account. I am not a football tactico (yet). I am a football enjoyer and I will give my opinions as fairly as I can. If you disagree let me know and I will be open for a different perspective and new insights.

🚨🎖️| Bastoni has interest from Liverpool, however he will not leave the club of his life unless it’s for FC Barcelona. Bastoni ADORES Barcelona and Flick’s team. He does not miss any match. [@ffpolo] 😳

@ReshadFCB @ffpolo I know it should depend on our financial ability, but I think this transfer will depend on how much he pushes for us.

The head coach of the latest Copa Del Rey champions turned down an opportunity in investment banking. Well, look how that turned out. He has a degree in applied mathematics from Columbia University. He was offered a job in investment banking. He chose football instead. Today the numbers read: Copa del Rey champion. Pellegrino Matarazzo is 47 years old, born in New Jersey to Italian immigrant parents. He attended Columbia, majored in applied mathematics and earned two-time All-Ivy League honours as a footballer. When he graduated in 1999 he had a standing offer on Wall Street. He turned it down, flew to Italy, tried to get a trial at a professional club, failed, and then moved to Germany with no contract and no plan. He spent a decade playing in Germany's lower divisions, never rising above the third tier. He was coaching youth teams while still playing. In 2015 he enrolled in Germany's elite coaching programme, where he shared a room with Julian Nagelsmann. That connection brought him to Hoffenheim. Hoffenheim brought him to Stuttgart, where he became the first American-raised head coach of a Bundesliga club. He was appointed Real Sociedad manager on 20 December 2025. The club were 16th in La Liga and had lost eight of their last fourteen games. Under Matarazzo they won eleven of their eighteen games, losing just three times. Today, Real Sociedad beat Atletico Madrid 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw to win the Copa del Rey. Pellegrino Matarazzo is the first American manager to win a major cup final in Europe's top five leagues. He did not buy this moment. He built it across twenty-five years. I am sure many non-Europeans are going to see him and be filled with belief that anything is possible. My name is Ajoje. I am a FIFA Licensed Agent and International Sports Lawyer. I write on the Law and Business of Football, a lot. Repost and Follow if you want to read more posts like this.

@TheLordlego @Bri_an2 I understand Cubarsi's red, but this shouldn't be a straight red. There is no excuse for referee and VAR.

@ASTOUNDlNGMessi @Bri_an2 In Europe I agree. The same consistency should apply to all games in the same competition, but I am talking about differences between national leagues. We should minimize the differences between national leagues and Europe to have the same consistency everywhere.

Arsenal lost to City and allowed them to get back in the race. Arsenal can't bottle it once more right?

@BarcaTimes @RogerTorello We should just give up on renewing him. He is just getting older and even more prone to injuries.

@ReshadFCB @RogerTorello I don't understand his thinking. If he thinks he can do better while playing 800 minutes in the last two seasons ok.

@NealGardner_ You could even argue our defense is worse too. When combining worse attact and worse defense it makes sense.

There’s one major factor I’m seeing a lot of folks overlook when reflecting on our season. The front-3, or lack thereof. When I look back to our fluidity and dominance in 24/25, what stood out was the dynamic between Raphinha, Lamine and Lewy. It was perfection. The shift from a season where Lewandowski was delivering 40 goals and Raphinha was consistently available, to one where the former is visibly feeling the weight of age and the latter hasn’t been fit to start even half our games, is as stark as it is defining. Flick’s essentially had the most important dynamic of his squad uprooted from its very essence, and beyond all else, I think that’s been a defining factor this season. And yet… he’s found a way to keep the relentless attacking machine going. Give the man some credit.
