Which teams are the biggest time-wasters when leading?
That's the subject of this week's The Trend for @TimesSport

The United States is so toxic on the world stage right now that it can’t fill hotels or sell World Cup tickets.
Let that land.
FIFA projected $30.5 billion in economic impact from millions of international visitors.
That demand never showed up.
Hotels in Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia and San Francisco have slashed match-day rates by a third from their peak.
FIFA has cancelled tens of thousands of reserved rooms across all 16 host cities.
Some hotels report cancellation rates above 95%.
The reasons aren’t hard to find. Anti-American sentiment. Fear of border crossings. The Iran war driving up oil prices and airfares. And tickets priced into the stratosphere, with finals seats hitting $10,990 a pop.
Industry executives are now openly blaming the Trump administration for the shortfall.
Tourism economists say the Iran war made an already bad sentiment problem worse.
Empty stadiums are now a real possibility.
It happened at the Club World Cup last summer.
It could happen again, on American soil, at the biggest sporting event on the planet.
The White House says this will be “the greatest World Cup ever.”
The market disagrees.

Arsenal fan here. Didn’t watch the game. I just can’t be bothered.
I slowly stopped watching the games a few months back. It’s just so draining, uninspiring and boring. I think you only first realise what you actually enjoy about football when your team is doing really well while at the same time playing like Stoke City with great footballers.
I became an Arsenal fan because I got inspired by Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, etc. Beautiful, creative, a bit chaotic, but with love for the game.
I don’t think you become an Arsenal fan if you’re a young kid right now, because why would you? Who would inspire you? Raya receives the ball 38 times for Christ. Saka is the only one who gives us that feeling of “something magical might happen” and maybe Dowman as well. But the overall feeling of enjoyment of watching the Gunners is not there currently.
There’s no love for the game anymore. There’s love for the result. But Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool have in recent years shown you can do both.
I hope we win everything. Don’t get me wrong.
But I miss Arsenal. Almost more than I miss trophies.

Let’s talk about rest for Gameweek 33
All 6 doubling teams have 3 days or less between Premier League fixtures, but Bournemouth and Leeds have an extra day
Bournemouth, Brighton and Burnley all have over a week rest after their 2nd fixture in the double, meaning rotation may not be as bad
Chelsea and Leeds play 3 times in 9 days, meaning if rotation happen it’ll likely take place in the 2nd fixture, so some caution, but most players should be fine
Man City play 3 times in 7 days, the strongest squad will be picked vs Arsenal, but it’s difficult to say which of the other 2 fixtures we could see rotation. As their FA cup semi final is against Southampton I’d predict it’s that fixture rotation will most likely happen, given the title race could still well be on

🚨 Vincent Kompany on people appreciating him: “Don't believe the hype, don't believe the drama”.
“When I arrived here at Bayern, I'd been promoted with 101 points, then relegated with 20, then won the league here – two years ago I was the worst manager and today I’m the very best”.
“If you let yourself be influenced by all that noise, you’ll end up getting worse. It’s nicer this way, but I can live with criticism. It really doesn't matter to me”.

A triple header comparison of Haaland, Semenyo and Cherki via @core_fpl
While the returns so far may suggest Semenyo is in a league of his own, a closer look at the season underlying data and p90 metrics tells us Cherki is a much superior #FPL pick when he has the xMins.
The real question is...
Which Man City attackers are you picking on your Gameweek 33 Free Hit?
My rankings:
🏅Haaland
🥈Cherki
🥉Semenyo

FPL MANAGERS BOOKMARK THIS 🚀 Pep Guardiola just said THIS about Rayan Cherki after the Chelsea vs Man City game. And it should be enough to bring Cherki in YOUR #FPL team. What did he say? Scroll down 👇 Repost to help others 💙🧵 All data via the FREE @core_fpl tool

🚨 Pep Guardiola on Nico O'Reilly scoring against Chelsea and netting 6 goals in his last 8 games as a full-back:
“I have managed Dani Alves, Philipp Lahm, and João Cancelo. They were incredible, top, top players. But what Nico is doing right now? I cannot explain it. He is a full-back, yet he plays with the penalty box instinct of a £150 million striker. Six goals in eight games... this is simply not normal. The match against Chelsea was so complicated, they defended so deep, and suddenly he ignores all my tactical instructions, runs into the box like a number nine, and wins us the game. I looked at my staff on the bench and said, 'What am I supposed to teach this boy?' The media always wants to talk about Haaland and Cherki, but when the team is suffering and we need a miracle, it is a young defender who is carrying us on his back. I am completely in love with him. I am so, so happy. More than you believe.”

Nico O'Reilly had to come off with a left hamstring injury.
O'Reilly first pulled up after a short burst of sprinting, reached for the hamstring, and attempted to play on, but was unable to continue.
From the way it presented, it looked more consistent with a minor issue rather than a moderate or high-grade tear.
Possible Recovery Times:
Hamstring Tightness: Under 1 week
Grade 1: 2-4 weeks
Grade 2: 4-6 weeks
Hamstring injuries usually need imaging to confirm the severity, so it is difficult to be definitive just from watching the incident.
That said, the early signs are a little more encouraging, and there is reason to hope it is only tightness or a low-grade strain.
