I also think he has a two tiered consumption system, one that Denji cannot use properly. Once something is truly eaten by pochita it can’t be returned to reality, but when Denji attempts to imitate this power, he only temporarily removes that thing in the now.

@mousoutelepath Its pretty heavily implied to have something to do with birth, but that’s I think easy, yet relevant still Fujimoto shows trees as the endpoint of life correct, as legacy, and so whatever pochita is, it represents the fear of losing that. Prob the Loss devil

@farris206 Simplest answer is that he’s not the Chainsaw devil. That’s basically confirmed by the last chapter. Now what devil he is or isn’t we can speculate on, But I imagine it has something to do with the fear of being forgotten or Birth or Loss.

So like… was it ever explained why the chainsaw devil can just… erase concepts?
