When parents are skipping meals because they cannot afford formula, when midwives worry about feeds being kept longer than is safe because families cannot afford to waste, "excessive" maternity pay isn't the problem. bit.ly/47MG5Mq

@LightFayber 2/2 … and more, from what I’ve read from credible independent experts in neonatal/medicine, stats, and legal matters. It was a brave but incredibly important thing to have contributed your psychological expertise to this programme. The visuals of those notes haunted me last night

@LightFayber Thank you for your contribution to this programme Faye. I’m ashamed to say I’ve only just tuned in to this case since the Guardian piece earlier in July, and very concerned about the safety of the conviction, sir all the reason outlined in the programme ..1/2

amazon.com/Miscarriage-Ju… “You have been lied to. This book has been re-released after being suspiciously banned from print”. Did the UK criminal injustice system put pressure on Amazon? The book is well worth reading. Kindle version is not expensive. #lucyletby #freedom4lucy

Grateful 2 @FranklyLess and Dani and Vicky from Abercessities too for their input to our @AHRDC 'Understanding Food Insecurity in Aberdeen' webinar where infant food insecurity was spotlighted as an area of deep public health concern needing more attention in our city.

This great video by @IFAN typifies being a ‘critical friend’ 4 people living in poverty & food insecurity, ie. pointing out, from front line experience of doing something practical 2 help people in food crisis, that food banks are not a sustainable solution to the problem.

Our latest data (ifanuk.org/430f84s) demonstrates just how vital it is for @10DowningStreet #FarmToForkSummit to prioritise a #cashfirst approach to #foodinsecurity.... @UKSustain @Food_Foundation @readifood @EarlsfieldFood2 @broke_not

Great 2 have you visit us in Scotland this month sharing research insights & perspectives at our @ahdrc ‘Understanding food insecurity in Aberdeen’ webinar last week. You gave us much food for thought, and great pointers at solutions that are needed and, make a difference.

Your excellent work in Canada on the hidden public health crisis of infant food insecurity in high income countries, that’s been hiding in plain sight for too long in the UK, provides good evidence about what would help parents most 2 cope with it - more money in their pockets.
Dr. Lesley Frank@FranklyLess

Check out this extensive report on infant food insecurity in the UK. It Mirrors our work on the issue here in Canada. Our Feeding in the Early Years Study in NS found that 31% of households were food insecurity. 4% of those stole formula from the store to feed their babies

@FranklyLess @RosieMcnee @DrErinWill Great to have you in the UK and @RGUNMandP talking about your long standing research and policy interest in family and infant food insecurity in high income country contexts - depressing as it is that we are having to have these conversations.

Stop #2 of my Harrison McCain visitor-ship tomorrow at the University of Edinburgh. Thankful for the support from @AcadiaU to collaborate internationally on infant food insecurity in rich nations - what @MichaelMarmot has called a ‘national shame and crisis’ in the UK.
