@V6AMG43 @sophielouisecc I do think the disparity between reform and restore needs addressed . Can you imagine Tory minded parties or 2 labour viewed parties They would split vote and strengthen the challengers .

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc I see, that makes sense. And yes I do agree, once some more familiar names that have been proven to be a ‘good’ MP (I say that very loosely) will also confirm that Restore and Rupert are serious. As I said above, the local Bi-elections could certainly shake things up.

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc Again, that is another very valid point that will take time to play out and convince a lot of people I think. If he can demonstrate a solid plan, with clear goals and realistic steps to achieve I think that will help win people over massively.

@CraigB_1986 @STVNews That’s an extreme though. We aren’t talking about excluding kids ( which should not differ in policy between LA areas) Education and LA need to take ownership of low level issues . And Government shouldn’t include such issues in a manifesto. Been in 14 years

@FlourKeith @STVNews You asked me for an example, so to be fair to you, let me give you one. A LA I worked for (that i won’t name) expressly forbids schools excluding pupils. It’s simply not allowed under any circumstance. Schools then have to find alternative provisions for the most unruly kids.

@FlourKeith @STVNews This one sentence shows your ignorance more than I ever could. My point was, and remains, that a government interdict will make it exponentially easier to impliment a mobile phone ban in schools, and so it’s a good thing. I think we best stop going around in circles here.

@FlourKeith @STVNews I’m afraid that you’re a little naive when you say “discipline in school is down to schools not governments.” I can assure you that EVERY high level decision taken in any LA school is only taken after consultion with local government in line with national policy.

@CraigB_1986 @STVNews Discipline at school is down to schools not Governments . Highlighting phone possession/ use is no different to saying they are going to introduce measures to stop poor attendance. It’s not their responsibility it’s education authorities.

@FlourKeith @STVNews … that doesn’t work either I am afraid. The inclusion agenda in Scot. schools forbids educational authorities to refuse a child access to school unless under extreme circumstances. Not giving up their phone doesn’t meet that criteria. Now IF that changed there MAY be a chance.
