'Staggering' I was not told Mandelson failed vetting, says PM bbc.in/3OHyJ7X
English

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc "But voting reform for your local councils in may will not remove the PM"
English

@sophielouisecc @FlourKeith Looooooooool
I hate reform as much as the next guy but you are seriously politically naive if you think stamer is surviving this Mandelson scandal followed by a hammering at the local elections
English

@V6AMG43 @sophielouisecc I do think the disparity between reform and restore needs addressed . Can you imagine Tory minded parties or 2 labour viewed parties
They would split vote and strengthen the challengers .
English

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc I see, that makes sense. And yes I do agree, once some more familiar names that have been proven to be a ‘good’ MP (I say that very loosely) will also confirm that Restore and Rupert are serious.
As I said above, the local Bi-elections could certainly shake things up.
English

@V6AMG43 @sophielouisecc That’s my point , reform have a lot of credible politicians ( well in terms of experience which people will want to see) you won’t convince voters without that .
English

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc Again, that is another very valid point that will take time to play out and convince a lot of people I think.
If he can demonstrate a solid plan, with clear goals and realistic steps to achieve I think that will help win people over massively.
English

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc Could you clarify what you mean by shadow post holder candidates, I am unfamiliar with that term?
I do think there will be big shake up at the local Bi-elections next month which may change things.
English

@V6AMG43 @sophielouisecc I like most of what he says I just don’t see the structure
English

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc I genuinely respect your views Keith, and I sincerely hope you vote Restore once Rupert has done enough to convince you.
I get people are still wary, but in time It will gradually shift from Reform to Restore.
English

@V6AMG43 @sophielouisecc So far he hasn’t gathered enough credible shadow post holder candidates.
I genuinely can’t see who
English

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc You think Rupert would run an independent Pakistani candidate?
Are we talking about the same Rupert?
English

@V6AMG43 @sophielouisecc Restore will encounter same issues re candidates
English

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc I wanted Reform to be the party we needed, but you cannot mistake the snakey actions.
Restore is the only option.
English

@V6AMG43 @sophielouisecc There has never been 2 parties with similar views in politics. Seems to me it’s personalities that prevent a joint party. Without, its benefiting the others.
English

@FlourKeith @sophielouisecc 100% spot on. When there is no Restore, the next best is Reform.
2027 will be the Restore council takeover..
English

@sophielouisecc As I see it they are the only alternative that address the majority concerns. Ye not perfect but on right track in comparison to the others .
English

@FlourKeith We should expect more from reform
Is it really ‘change’ when they have no polices at all
This is the problem with people in Britain - they lack seriousness
English

@CraigB_1986 @STVNews That’s an extreme though. We aren’t talking about excluding kids ( which should not differ in policy between LA areas)
Education and LA need to take ownership of low level issues .
And Government shouldn’t include such issues in a manifesto. Been in 14 years
English

@FlourKeith @STVNews You asked me for an example, so to be fair to you, let me give you one.
A LA I worked for (that i won’t name) expressly forbids schools excluding pupils. It’s simply not allowed under any circumstance.
Schools then have to find alternative provisions for the most unruly kids.
English

@CraigB_1986 @STVNews Yes because you are being a little unprofessional with your assessment of my knowledge.
English

@FlourKeith @STVNews This one sentence shows your ignorance more than I ever could.
My point was, and remains, that a government interdict will make it exponentially easier to impliment a mobile phone ban in schools, and so it’s a good thing.
I think we best stop going around in circles here.
English

@FlourKeith @STVNews In fact. Let me go you one better.
A teacher with 13 years experience.
A principal teacher who has managed pupils, staff and parents.
A masters degree in educational leadership and management.
Worked with education Scotland on national policy development.
But aye. Nonsense.
English

@CraigB_1986 @STVNews Maybe you need to toughen up then, and stop looking for excuses.
English

@FlourKeith @STVNews Good luck with that. I speak as a retired teacher, mate!
English

@CraigB_1986 @STVNews Example ? You have no idea what my background is .
You are talking nonsense.
English

@FlourKeith @STVNews I’m afraid that you’re a little naive when you say “discipline in school is down to schools not governments.”
I can assure you that EVERY high level decision taken in any LA school is only taken after consultion with local government in line with national policy.
English

@CraigB_1986 @STVNews Discipline at school is down to schools not Governments .
Highlighting phone possession/ use is no different to saying they are going to introduce measures to stop poor attendance. It’s not their responsibility it’s education authorities.
English

@FlourKeith @STVNews I’m also curious to know what other options?
I’m not trying to be an arse, genuinely wondering what you think.
English

@CraigB_1986 @STVNews You don’t need to exclude there are other options and in any case the majority of parents would support this .
English

@FlourKeith @STVNews … that doesn’t work either I am afraid.
The inclusion agenda in Scot. schools forbids educational authorities to refuse a child access to school unless under extreme circumstances. Not giving up their phone doesn’t meet that criteria.
Now IF that changed there MAY be a chance.
English
