It's my Semi-Annual post begging for money for the nonprofit I work for here in Arizona! Arizona Youth Partnership is working every day to help build strong and resilient youth in AZ. We are all grant-funded, but there are things like food that aren't covered by those grants. Every $50 that gets donated during the Power Hour from 11-11:59 am PST gets us entered into a pool to win another $2500 for our agency. One big thing I want to work on this year is protecting my time more. Being more focused on projects when they need to be, but also making sure to disconnect (as in ACTUALLY disconnect) to spend time with the family, friends, or just doing something for me. Frankly, my girls aren’t getting younger and time isn’t going to slow down. The question I always ask is “What do you want done?”. I’ve always been the person to never shy away from a challenge or say “no I can’t do that”, but that comes with sacrifice or a misalignment of priorities. In sales we call that “up front contracts”. Essentially: Bring to the table what you can do, but don’t inflate/take away from that. If you can do something in ‘X’ time, don’t bend the rules and say you can get it done sooner/later. If there’s a task asked of you, be honest of what you can/cannot do, and stick to that. That’s not to say I’m not going to work my ass off, because I absolutely will. This is about protecting my time while driving the best possible outcome I can.

Make your personal brand so undeniably YOU that brands can’t help but to take notice of your interests S/O to LEGO for the perfect care package 🙏🏻

One of the hardest parts of my job is when a parent comes to me for help, and there just isn't anything I can really do. I just don't have funding for everything.
