@FlyPigGames I think the era they were made in has a lot to do with it too? Gaming was growing but still pretty niche' in the early 90s, so anyone drawn to create one would most likely have been in it through genuine passion for the medium.

Controversial question for the #RETROGAMING fans (which will hopefully start a fight) For those of us in our 40s and up, were the games we played as kids really that much better than those of today, or does nostalgia and memories of how things once were skew our opinions?

@terrybrash How to end your game dev career 101. Steal someone else’s hard work and post it as your own. It’s a literal copy and you should be ashamed to call yourself a game dev.

My cancer has spread to the liver and consumed it. I have only days to weeks left. I’m entering hospice tomorrow for end stage care. Goodbye my friends, I love you more than you could know! #B4L

Guys this was a sarcastic post about people shitting in other devs for using available tools. We are not currently looking for an artist lol

Hm I need one small texture made, but I’m not much of an artist? Should I do a quick 30 second AI prompt, or pay $200 for an artist I found on Fiverr that will take days?

Here’s the thing: a lot of us #Indiedevs don’t have a ton of money or time. We need to use every available tool to us to accomplish a project that would normally take an entire team. Trying to guilt your fellow indie devs for using #ai when maybe hiring an artist or taking the large time commitment to learn another new skill isn’t always feasible. Be kind to eachother, support eachother. Trust me. If we could all afford to hire a team of artists we would. And when we can, we will. It’s a forced choice not a voluntary one.

lol seriously? People will find any reason to shit on other people’s success. Get over yourself. There is nothing wrong with AI, it’s here to stay. If a company decides to use AI that’s their business. But standing here going oh they used AI, do better? They shouldn’t use all available tools to them? Get off your high horse ffs.

@iodine_x64 @Phantom_TheGame How Indie Marketing works. Without a budget or team, you’re left in a sea of 500 games being released a day. The only way to get visibility is by thinking outside the box and bringing attention to your page where they will then hopefully follow for the game content.

@Phantom_TheGame Why do you not post about your game as your main content? So far what I have seen is a programmer meme, and then plugging your steam page in the replies. This is a genuine question, I'd love to know your thought process!

Some of my posts have been quite popular, and will inevitably be reposted all over the internet, I'm already seeing it happen. While I understand it can be hard to know who made a post originally, it's always a good idea to do a couple of minutes of research before posting. 🧵
