I always laugh at yanks in their US-centric bubble but the freakout at europeans rightly assuming they could walk to a World Cup stadium is one of the best it's always "no you can't WALK to the stadium 😭 idiot" and not asking "hey are we lacking basic city infrastructure?"
Tristanovich🇩🇰@LoeveTristan

Love this discourse on tiktok where Americans are laughing at imaginary Europeans that have said they want to walk to stadiums It is so damning for the USA that people just cannot fathom they live in a shithhole, and instead of fixing it, they laugh at others for assuming better

Sources: FIFA wanted level 4 motorcade escort for its president while in Vancouver (ability to go through traffic lights). That’s 1 level below the pope - but on par with 🇺🇸 president - and higher than 🇨🇦 PM. The request was denied. #bcpoli @GlobalBC @CUrquhartGlobal

Steve Kerr on his biggest concern about America Today “When I finished college almost forty years ago, if you went to school and got a degree, you could get a job and you could buy a house. Now that's out of reach for most people between student debt and home prices and the economy slanted toward the very, very top one per cent. We don't really have a middle class, and we don't have what used to represent the American Dream, which was: you can do better than your parents. We're going backward on all that. Our family is lucky. I'm in a position where my family can live well. But there are millions of people out there, young people who are looking at the horizon and saying, "I did everything I was told I needed to do, and I can't buy a house, and I can't chase my dream." Think about what that means for the stability of communities and cities and a whole country.” (Via @NewYorker h/t @warriorsworld )

@Amit_Mann Maybe, Darko, too, will get to 187 playoffs wins if he coaches the Raps for the next 50 years. After all, it took him 3 years just to get to 100 regular-season wins with a fairly competent roster. Holy mid.

Howie Roseman: "If we went into the draft and filled every hole, we probably didn't have a good draft." ...This is a comment Roseman makes each year, and it's served him well. His point is that when you're pushing your needs in the draft, you're deviating from the process.

18 straight years of financial doping & 115+ charges pending, spanning more than half of the history of the Premier League (52.9%). Never been done before. History stained & disgraced. Nobody respects City & they know it. A rap sheet that far outweighs their 'achievements', which no amount of money will ever wash away. Congratulations on losing the last two FA Cup Finals though.

Four straight FA Cup Finals. Never been done before. History made.

we need to keep the walkable stadiums discourse going. its activated some kind of bat signal deep in USA brain where every day 30000 more of them wake up and rush to die defending the stupidest possible vision of carpark deathcamp urbanism imaginable. This is their passchendaele.
joe@BurdenBurner

The brits are right. Instead of building a stadium 9 miles* from Manhattan* we could’ve just chucked the whole meadowlands complex in Central Park!

The only quote that matters from the 2026 draft, courtesy of Commanders 6th-rd. RB Kaytron Allen: “I was a fat baby and everybody in the town called me Fatman. Hopefully I keep it going in Washington and they call me Fatman and, you know, when I score all you hear is Fatman.”

@_CM_67_ Europeans not realizing people will travel vast distances to go to sporting events. Yeah you probably would need a parking lot that big.
