Just because someone knows a few basic details about you, it doesn’t mean they are genuine. The police or your bank will never contact you out of the blue to ask for your PIN, password, or to transfer money to another account.

As we always advise our clients, if you ever receive an unexpected or unusual call from HMRC do not respond or give away any personal information without double checking first. If you are unsure, check with your accountant, or call HMRC directly using a known telephone number.
HM Revenue & Customs@HMRCgovuk

We are aware of scammers phoning people, telling them about a ‘fraud case’ in their name and threatening arrest. Do not respond, this is a SCAM. Report scams on GOV.UK 👇 gov.uk/government/org…
