I think one of the most misunderstood things with betting that I see on twitter and in my discord is that a pro loses A LOT of fucking bets and that’s okay. You’ll never see anyone winning 70% of their bets over a significant timeframe, if they were you’d never see them on twitter they’d be jerking off in a private jet with bezos. For example, in roughly a years time I was repping a 54% or so winrate and brought home 215%~ return on my entire bankroll. I personally will make make thousands of bets per year and lose thousands of them (somewhere in the range of 40-45%). You’re working on a system based around creating some small percentage (15%~) of edge over the book and betting it thousands of times to remove variance. You really only need like 52% winrate in esports to be profitable and anything above that is completely bezos. The actual importance of being correct or picking the winner is so much lower on the totem pole of importance as far as being a successful bettor compared to things like bankroll management and emotional control. Once you stop looking at everything in a result biased pov of “did x team win, ah so it was a good/bad bet” and more of “y team had a 50% chance implied odds to win when I bet them but in reality it ended up being a near 75% chance and we lost a unlucky flip” you’ll do so much better betting urself. A winning bet certainly does not make it a correct bet, and a losing bet certainly does not make it an incorrect one.
