Most of us only turn to tasbeeh when something feels heavy. When the anxiety creeps in, when the guilt lingers, when life feels unfair or confusing. But tasbeeh isn’t meant to be a last resort. It’s a way of realigning your heart before it drifts too far. When you say subhanAllah slowly and with presence, you’re reminding yourself that Allah is untouched by the chaos that overwhelms you. You’re clearing Him of every flawed assumption your fear tried to attach to Him.
Sometimes we drown not because the world’s too loud, but because we forget to return to that remembrance consistently. We think relief will come from solving everything, fixing everything, controlling everything. But relief often begins with magnifying Him instead of magnifying what scares us. Tasbeeh is quiet, but it shifts the scale inside your chest. What felt enormous begins to shrink. What felt suffocating starts to loosen.
Tonight, before you reach for another distraction, pause for a minute. Sit still. Say subhanAllah with intention. Not rushed. Not mechanical. Just sincere. Let your heart settle into the truth that He’s perfect even when you’re not, and He’s above everything that feels too big for you. Sometimes the way up isn’t through force, but through remembrance.

When you feel trapped in your own thoughts, or like you’re drowning in something you can’t escape, follow along with this du’a:
Ya Subbuh, subhaanak, how perfect You are beyond everything I can imagine. When the world feels loud and heavy, remind me that You are untouched by its chaos. Let my glory and praise of You rise above the darkness, even if I drown myself in it, and pull me out of it by Your perfection, even after I dragged myself down.
Ya Quddus, purify me inside and out. Cleanse my worship of pride, my heart of resentment, my soul of anything that clouds its way back to You, and make me worthy of the nearness I seek to You.
Ya Salaam, send peace into every storm within my chest. Let Your calm settle where fear once lived. Let Your safety surround what the world cannot protect. Make me a source of peace for others until I meet You in the home of peace, and get to hear from You Yourself: Salaam. Ameen.
