🚨At least 21 British victims have been identified of the Com Network - sadistic, extremist group chats that make a game of committing crimes and encouraging self-harm. Since our @LBC investigation last year, authorities have had 500 referrals about criminal activity linked to the Com and made 14 arrests. But the NCA warns young female victims are going back to perpetrators after intervention, because of the level of grooming involved. lbc.co.uk/article/online…

Heading to the #CarabaoCup final, @Arsenal and @ManCity fans? As of tomorrow, entering a match without a ticket will be a criminal offence. Tailgaters could receive a football banning order and a hefty fine. Don’t tailgate. Don’t jeopardise public safety. Enjoy the game. thefa.com/news/2026/mar/…

Iran tried unsuccessfully on Friday to target the UK-US military base in Diego Garcia with ballistic missiles, it is understood. The attack happened before the UK announced it would allow US forces to use the base to launch strikes against Iran. The attempt to hit a site some 4,000 km away though demonstrates a ballistic missile reach by Iran that until now had not been publicly confirmed. A @DefenceHQ spokesperson said: “Iran’s reckless attacks, lashing out across the region and holding hostage the Strait of Hormuz, are a threat to British interests and British allies. “RAF jets and other UK military assets are continuing to defend our people and personnel in the region. “This government has given permission to the US to use British bases for specific and limited defensive operations.”

EXCL: Mark Rowley says it would be ‘overly dramatic’ to suggest the Met’s record on phone theft will define his term as Commissioner. One of the big things the Met boss wants to get out of his America trip is for tech firms to take the issue ‘seriously’ and design out the crime. He’ll meet bosses in Silicon Valley in the coming days. But he’s told me the number of phones stolen in London will “be down by a lot more again this year” as he declared his city safer than New York. @LBC | @LBCNews

EXCL: Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley tells me the UK’s public order laws are ‘not tenable’, because of competing demands with human rights legislation. The Met is asking the CPS whether they should take action over chants of ‘death to the IDF’ at a demo in London yesterday. Speaking on day one of a week-long trip to the US, the commissioner said he delayed his trip to oversee Al Quds day gatherings, after marches were banned over concerns of serious disorder. “There will always be a grey area,” he says, “but me and my colleagues just want clarity… the time has come for Parliament to redraw the lines really clearly”. @LBC | @LBCNews

NEW: Met Police will use River Thames to distance Al Quds protesters this weekend in 'bespoke, new tactic'. *12,000 people expected at static demonstrations after ban on marches ordered. *Al Quds protesters will be kept on south side of river, with counter demonstrations on north side, with different transport hubs to move them in and out. *New tactic that hasn't been used before, according to Assistant Commissioner who oversees public order policing. *Police will have control of the bridges and marine units will patrol the river between. *More than 1,000 police officers will be needed, taking them away from neighbourhoods, with potential remaining for violence. *Met insists the move to ban marches "does not set a precedent" for future protests. lbc.co.uk/article/met-th…

Sir Mark Rowley tells @LBC there could still be ‘messy and violent’ scenes in London this weekend, despite the ban on Al Quds march. He’s defended the Met’s decision to ask for the move - the first time it has done so since 2012 - citing ‘extraordinary and unique’ circumstances.

Norfolk Police say a 16-year-old boy has now been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, after reports a teenage girl was stabbed at school. They say the incident is not believed to be linked to a hate crime reported at the same school last week.
