I have come to the realization that many people do not truly understand rape, sexual assault, or trauma. One of the most important aspects of sexual assault is that victims are often left deeply confused about what happened to them. This is especially true when the perpetrator is someone they know, trust, admire, or depend on a family member, a close friend, a mentor, or another respected figure. In such situations, the victim may spend years questioning themselves: Did I misunderstand what happened? Am I overreacting? Was it somehow my fault? How could someone I trusted do something like that? While still dealing with the consequences of the assault/trauma involved Sexual assault is not always a clear cut defined event that the victim immediately recognizes and labels. It can be subtle, manipulative, and psychologically devastating. It often leaves people feeling confused, ashamed, guilty, and disconnected from their own perceptions. The trauma is not limited to the act itselfs it can fundamentally alter howa person views themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. This is precisely why support systems matter so much. Many victims spend years trying to make sense of their experiences, often without validation, understanding, or help from those around them.

Because it’s almost always someone you know. Someone you might’ve trusted. A mutual friend. Someone in your family. Your best friend’s brother. People spend years convincing you that what happened to you wasn’t even that bad, blocking doesn’t even enter the picture

But still, I will not utter a word against Modi and his government’s failures. Be that as it may, I’ll vote for them again in 2029. Cheers 🍻 - A certified Modi Bhakt.

An ambulance carrying a critical patient was stopped for 5 minutes to allow the CM's convoy to pass through first in Jaipur. The traffic police can be heard shamelessly saying, “Arrey, oxygen de to rakhi hai yaar... Maine ishaara kar diya hai, band kar de (to switch off the ambulance siren).” Even a 2-year-old child is aware of Modi's usual script of letting ambulances pass during his roadshows. However, the reality is quite different. His own ministers and CMs are well aware of his theatrics, which is why they don't follow the practice themselves.

#NowForClimate #EkPedMaaKeNaam

I visited the southernmost tip of India. I stood at Indira Point. I walked under trees that have stood for centuries. I dove into coral reefs among the most vibrant on earth. And I sat with the people who live there. Tribal communities, whose land is being taken away by violating the Forest Rights Act. Settlers, many of them former soldiers, placed on these islands by the Indian government, who aren’t getting fair compensation. The Modi government and BJP tells you Great Nicobar Project is about defence. It is not. Expand INS Baaz - we will back the government fully. The Navy has been asking for expansion for five years - it has been ignored. They tell you it is about a transhipment port. It is not. India is already building one in Kerala, which is on the mainland. What it actually is: 1.5 crore trees felled. Coral reefs erased from official maps. Soldiers and tribals displaced - so one businessman can build hotels and casinos on India’s most irreplaceable ecological land. Every young Indian I have spoken to understands this. You know that no amount of profit is worth destroying what can never be recovered. I stand for ecologically balanced development. These islands can be the most extraordinary sustainable destination the world has ever seen. That is the India worth fighting for. #GreenOverGreed #NicobarMatters #WorldEnvironmentDay

You can perform a superstitious activity on live-news making it look real in India and still can't get arrested. Playing with scientific temperament in India is now being appreciated.

#Cancer patients across #India are scrambling for two life-saving #chemotherapy #drugs as a #shortage of #Cisplatin and #Carboplatin begins to disrupt treatment schedules, with some hospitals reporting only one to two days' supply left. Doctors at #AIIMSDelhi, #privatehospitals and #cancercentres across the country warn that prolonged shortages could affect outcomes for patients undergoing curative #treatment. Hospitals are reporting dwindling stocks, while patients and their families are being forced to search pharmacies and distributors in an effort to procure the medicines. "The situation is pretty serious. We have barely one or two days' supply left at the hospital. Patients are frantically searching and trying to arrange the drugs themselves," said @drshyam_aggarwa , Chairman, Medical Oncology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. The medicines are used in the treatment of several common cancers, including those of the lung, ovary, cervix, breast, oral cavity, oesophagus, testis and gallbladder. @timesofindia

Hi friends! Now that this is big time news and national media has mentioned Homeopathy as witchcraft, here is the new term I am proud to anounce and we should be aware of. "Triangle of Shame". This annoying shameful event occurs when an influencer (almost always a podcast host who is not a domain/topic expert)...enables misinformation from another (almost always a pseudoscience practitioner/sympathizer/apologist)...and which gets endorsed by a third influencer (who may or may not be a celebrity, but is definitely stupid when it comes to science/health literacy). Watch out for such podcasts/interviews and reject them.

It took 45 minutes for fire trucks to reach the site in Malviya Nagar today. But glad we live in Delhi/India... we could order and get Burnol in ten minutes. And, of course, the mortuary van driver took payment via UPI.

When we were medical students at St. John’s, we had forensic medicine posting at Victoria hospital. I remember this man being brought in for semen/DNA testing because he had been accused of rape. The male doctor, police man and lawyer were laughingly asking him ‘yako madidhe’?
