My view on school leadership: Listen and understand. No change for changes sake. Children at the heart of decisions. Welfare first -education second. Get to know people - let them know a bit about you (you the headteacher and vision -as well as you the human!).

Had to leave a restaurant this evening because they didn’t have the one thing I liked on the menu (there was only 3 veggie things) and it will take me a while to recover from the social anxiety this involved 🙃

The news is out! I’m staying in year 4 for another year next year, and getting my old class back from when they were in year 2! Apparently their reactions were mixed 😂 but I’m delighted that we get to do lots of BSL again as they adored it in year 2 🎉

@Ethical_Leader This is more common now in primary schools - due to tight budgets and fewer staff. It’s hard 🤨 Governors are DBS checked and hopefully have an interest so it makes sense to invite if possible. No harm in asking 🤷‍♀️

The reality has just dawned on me that I’m 45 & only went to the top of the Death Slide because of the peer pressure of about 20 young children & their parents at a random party chanting for me to do it. 🙈 *Look out for the exact moment the fear kicks in. 🤣

The measure of the quality of someone’s leadership is how they step up during a crisis. Compare and contrast school leaders in 2020 to HMCI right now.

If Ofsted is so confident about the quality of its training materials, why aren’t they shared online for all to see? Surely everyone can benefit from some training on supporting staff in stressful situations?

Honestly, if you need training to tell you this stuff, maybe you shouldn’t be inspecting in the first place. I think year 6 would find it patronising.
