@villabeerwomen Thanks. It was in the original, excessively long draft, but got cut with a load of other stuff during editing. So many stories! President of the Turkish FA at the time likened Rivaldo’s reaction to “having a brain haemorrhage”.

Just finished Ruy Castro's incredibly intimate biography of #Garrincha. A tremendous life-story, expertly told. So much more than a crooked-legged two-time World Cup winner turned alcoholic who lost his virginity to a goat and fathered 14 kids... An immense book.

@killingfloorman @adowniebrazil Yes, as I was reading I often found myself translating it back into Portuguese in my head to imagine how the original might read. Will need to source a copy. (As well as Castro’s book on Nelson Rodrigues).

@GMeenaghan @adowniebrazil It's a towering achievement as are Castro's other biographies. I didn't know that Andrew did the translation (I read the original) 👍
