JUST IN: The five suspects arrested in connection with Monday’s attempted armed robbery in Lafrenzi Industrial Area appeared in court today before Magistrate Nanghali Aihuki. Elias ‘Small Boy’ Haifete, Lukas ‘Big Show’ Simon, Pinias ‘Bokie’ Haiduwa, Amon Haikali, and Lotto Haindongo - allegedly armed during the incident - were denied bail due to the seriousness of the charges and concerns they may flee. Separately, Haifete was also charged today, in a different court, with the murder of Fiina Nghifikwa, who was killed in Windhoek on 22 July. The case has been postponed to 14 October for further investigations. All five suspects will remain in custody at the Windhoek Correctional Facility. Video: Rita Kakelo

Their discussions focused on strengthening trade and investment ties between Namibia and Nigeria as a means of driving economic growth and creating jobs. President Nandi-Ndaitwah and former President Obasanjo also expressed shared concern over ongoing global conflicts, underscoring the importance of peaceful and amicable resolutions while reflecting on how Africa can navigate an increasingly uncertain global environment.
