Have a 5th golf Major? Sure, plenty of Tours do that already (eg LPGA). Adds more player opportunities & enhanced cv's. The Players, with its short heritage can remain the 'best non-Major'; I'd suggest the Canadian Open is the best 5th Major option.

I can’t believe we are having a 5th major discussion… 1st off “Majors” are make believe to begin with, Arnold Palmer referenced the “Big 4” and the media jumped on it. The reality is players want to win @THEPLAYERS and a career is not complete without it. 2nd, along with @TheMasters it’s one of a very few events that revisits the same course annually and thus the viewer/listener has a unique and intimate relationship with the course and event….. whether you like it or not…. It’s as Major as it gets… this the point of the ad #PGATour I’ll rant Monday on @GolfTalkCanada
