@TheOnlyRobmdk @kirkkinsey I, and my whole generation I might add, played 11v11 on full size pitches from the age of 10. Did us no harm, I played with Kevin Gallen who went on to play at QPR and Eng U21. I joined the military and have numerous RN caps. I don’t subscribe to modern views.

@kirkkinsey Disagree. Many great players on small pitch formats struggle to transition to 11v11. Playing multiple formats is fine. There are benefits to playing 11v11 as there are 3v3, 5v5, 7v7, 9v9.

If you have a U12 squad right now and have started playing 11v11 to close out the season, you are doing more harm than good. The idea isn’t novel and it’s certainly not needed.
