Meet Medical Pioneer: Alfred François Donné (1801-1878). He was first to identify Trichomonas vaginalis (1836), developed photomicroscopy (1840s), was the first to describe platelets (1842) and the elevated WBC count and arrested cellular maturation in leukemia (1844), and more.
