Return of the Jedi behind the scenes in 1983...
This pop culture cinema success featured Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. Principal photography took place in 1982 across multiple locations, including the Imperial Sand Dunes in California for Tatooine scenes. The film was produced on a budget of roughly $32.5 million and went on to gross over $470 million worldwide during its initial run.
This installment concluded the original Star Wars trilogy, following The Empire Strikes Back (1980). It featured large-scale practical effects, including miniature models, animatronics (notably Jabba the Hutt), and optical compositing techniques developed by Industrial Light & Magic.
Jabba the Hutt required a team of puppeteers, up to seven operators, to control movement, dialogue, and facial expressions, making it one of the most complex practical effects builds of the era.

Neat footage of a black wolf, a fairly rare observation in our area where 98-99% of wolves are gray.
We actually collared this wolf (now dubbed Wolf G11E) later in the summer, the first black wolf we ever collared on our project. As we knew when we collared him, G11E was not part of a pack but rather a lone wolf wandering around, which is pretty common for 1-2 year old males like G11E.
