@ShoujoSalem Kinda yeah. The CDs and the manga can def get pretty brutal at times and some characters have pretty emotional and dark backstories (Yuyuko, Byakuren, Junko, etc.). Tone-wise though, Touhou is mainly fun and whimsical and it’s a huge reason why I’m drawn to it

@samiyann_123 The games have their emotional moments and some reasons of the characters can get pretty dark but the overall tone remains whimsical for the most part since everyone kinda becomes friends at the end. A lot of spell patterns though, now those are straight up HORROR

@GeneralVann This is exactly what I used to think, when I was 12 I wanted to play touhou bc I liked the danmakus but I was so scared because I thought it was an incredibly deep game with a soul crushing story cuz I thought that since Toby fox liked it then it must be similar to undertale

@NicoNicoNessie The games def still have their emotional moments, especially with backstories like Yuyuko’s, Byakuren’s, etc. And yeah DiPP especially is pretty dark along with stuff like Fortune Teller in FS and Mizuchi’s backstory in CDS. Touhou can be dark at times but it’s mainly whimsical

@GeneralVann I kinda agree on that. Closest things i like from the manga is the inclusion of Rumia (in a small cameo) and Murasa (on the next arc)... i still wonder how Sumireko would look like in the manga? Other than that, the manga definetly has ran out its course.

@LuisArturoAyal8 I hate CDS lol. It definitely has its moments (I LOVE Patchouli’s and Okuu’s designs in it and the Okuu fight was great) but I wish it would end already
