@blakecowellx - graded as the worst player in baseball for 2 straight months
- vanished in the playoffs
- everyone else laughing at the cubs for extending him
PCA in his age 23 season had…
- Gold Glove season (probably deserved platinum)
- 30/30 season
- Started CF for the National League in the All-Star Game
And some people really comparing him to Kevin Kiermaier/Billy Hamilton
The cope is REAL
On this day five years ago, Angel Reese, then a freshman, recorded 19 points in just 17 minutes in a second-round win over Alabama—only weeks after returning from leg surgery that had sidelined her for nearly three months.
That freshman season isn’t typically a part of the conversation when discussing her collegiate career. She appeared in only half of the team’s games due to the injury and was placed on a minutes restriction upon returning, but the opening stretch made it clear what was coming.
In the three games before the injury, Reese averaged (17.0) points, (8.7) rebounds, (1.3) steals, and (2.0) blocks in just 20 minutes per game, with two of those performances coming against ranked opponents. That brief window offered an early look at the level she would eventually reach. 🪄

@BudaTxFrog@Brett_A_Taylor But Brown will get limited innings out of the bullpen. Assad in AAA allows him to be stretched out and ready to start when called up.
Brown might be good for 3 IP in a spot start because he hasn't been stretched out
Sometimes it really sucks to have minor league options remaining. Javier Assad is clearly a big league pitcher. But with so much depth, there simply isn't a clear spot for him right now. So, he affords the Cubs some extremely valuable depth and flexibility. He'll be back.
My thoughts on Seiya going to the IL and Assad going to AAA:
- Matt Shaw will get consistent reps in the OF and we will see what potential he has there
- Assad getting optioned shows the depth the Cubs have. He would make a vast majority of MLB rosters, but this roster is ELITE
I hate the Assad move, but I can only imagine they wanna keep him stretched out as a SP instead of out the bullpen. If that's the case, smart move. JT made the roster due to what he's getting paid. Cubs will have a handful of guys that can be traded if rotation stays healthy when Justin Steele returns.
@jackson_chad@CubsZone Agreed.
Taillon on last year of contract... Assad still has 2 more years of control after this season. If Taillon struggles, Assad will be up, and Taillon might be on the trade block for a team looking for SP depth.
@DOGGO525@trendyhoopstars If the entire WNBA should have been on the cover of Time... shouldn't we include all of the WNBA when a college player passes them in college scoring?
@WSportsFan_@ChrisHeight@danielmartest If one player is a traffic cone that makes the rest of the team cover for her.
After a while, 5 on 4 constant defense will wear her teammates down.
Easy baskets for the other team.
All because of one players lack of defense.
@Masego83878533@Shanedad0211@not_DovKleiman Charles Barkley was fat when he left Auburn. Luckily for him, he had a guy who took him under his wing in Philly & told him to lose weight & he'd become an even better player.
He did & became one of the greatest basketball players who ever lived.
That guy was Moses Malone.
@not_DovKleiman Y’all are mean for no reason
Just bc she’s big doesn’t mean she eats a lot
She could have metabolic issues
Or thyroid problems
You never know
