This may be one of the greatest golf photos ever taken. Espcially given Seve and Faldo’s relationship. Please caption: Thanks @MTownsendGolf !

Let’s continue with the fun early-career photos of top Tour players… Here’s Rory McIlroy in 2009 competing in his first Players Championship. Is it a wig? Or is it not a wig? It legitimately looks like a wig. 😂 📷: Richard Heathcote/Getty #ThePlayers @AlanShipnuck

Was doing some research last night and stumbled upon this GEM of Tiger Woods at the 1995 Open at St. Andrews. That was Tiger’s first Open he ever played in. It also happened to be Arnold Palmer’s LAST Open he ever played in.

It is only a month to the day until the first round of The Masters. A time when the players catch up with old friends. As Sam Snead is here with Mountain Man Dean. That spirit of gathering was Bobby Jones’ intent for the tournament from the beginning.

Jimmy Roberts shares an iconic Ben Hogan story. A practice round at Augusta National Golf Club. Ben Hogan hits it to five feet. Claude Harmon hits it in the hole. Walking to the green, Hogan turns and says, “Claude, did you see my shot?”

It’s the 1965 Bing Crosby at Pebble Beach and Arnold Palmer is in a playful mood. See who else you can spot.

@flushingitgolf One of the first events I ever watched. Stayed up until 4am in Australia as a 10 year old. Pete Senior also in contention. What a brilliant round. Missed a tiddler on 17 as well but those two shots into 18 under the pump were simply sublime.

@GolfLibrary @ShaneRyanHere Come on mate. The Australian Open is a fucking joke. I truly wish it wasn't. The prize money is 250k US and has been for 30 years . Can't get a fucking decent sponsor. Went woke and started adding the womens open. It's a cluster fuck. Fifth major ? Please

I was as intrigued as you are by the PGA Tour using the tag line "March is going to be major" in their Players hype video. I reached out, and a Tour spokesperson said this: "Fans and players have long discussed THE PLAYERS Championship's status as a major. We understand that is not for us to decide. Ultimately it is up to our sport and its fans to recognize what the professionals who play the game already know.” more thoughts in a moment...
