@dissidntdad I don’t always lead grace, but that’s because I choose who to say it.
English

@SurrealistShip lol, we don’t do the tooth fairy or any of that stuff. No issues from the kids.
English

@stefanieQB Looks like it. My wife confirmed that it looks the same.

Could this be Emily Belle Freeman's fabulous dress? tnuck.com/products/blue-… #generalconference

Hot take: Cinnamon rolls are the worst dessert.
JMIKE@joemikerobs
I would love to see the data on Cinnamon roll consumption on LDS General conference Sundays.

@LowTimePrefrenz @KalanisCalves Why are we praying for prisoners of war?
English

@KalanisCalves 3. Pray for extreme pow. If you want pow, pray for extreme pow. If you don’t want pow, then pray on behalf of those that do.

@Rach_the_Rivetr You’ve got some good things here and some things I disagree with completely. I won’t explain which. 😂

Things I Would Do If I Were Still Teaching Sunday School to 15–17 Year Olds
Leave sacrament meeting during the closing song to set up the classroom (if your building isn’t sharing rooms at that time). This gives you a few quiet minutes to prepare the space before the youth arrive.
Connect with your students on a personal level through a group text chain, if possible. Keep one-on-one texting to an absolute minimum to avoid any appearance of impropriety. (I still text my former students, but always in the group setting.)
Set clear expectations with the youth about the schedule and purpose of class. Let them know that while you enjoy socializing, the Lord has called you to help them review and deepen the material they’ve been taught. Emphasize the importance of being on time. Most won’t care at first, but some will—and the others usually come around once they see the standard.
Arrange the room with folding tables and have the students sit around them. This was one of the things that helped the most. A couple of kids would still try to sit in the back by themselves, but for the most part, it formalized the setting and helped the youth take the class more seriously. This idea came as a prompting from the Spirit—your experience may vary.
I’ve never been a fan of the two-hour church schedule. Personally, I’d prefer three hours. But that’s just my personality. Regardless, I will always sustain the brethren. I pray and ask God to help me magnify my calling within the current parameters. We aren’t doing these callings alone—God is at the helm, and He wants us to succeed.

@hvworlton @lars_2025 Your bishop needs to repent. 😂 he should be maximizing his time with the youth on Sundays.
English

For instance, my bishop meets with people during 2nd hour.
This will limit that time, and he'll still have to meet with people. This leads to more time at church on Sundays. Or Wednesdays. Or Tuesdays.
If the youth/ children aren't taught, is it just to hold them responsible for their Gospel learning?
As for the other issues, I don't know if they were. We shall see. Other people seem to have not thought of them.
And after all, this is a policy matter, not doctrine.
English

Geez, people.
It's okay to not like the change to the meeting schedule.
It's okay to point out problems that perhaps you haven't thought of.
It's okay to express concerns.
That doesn't mean I'm going "apostate" or I'm not following the prophet, or I'm not a good member.
It means I have concerns.
This isn't doctrine.
English

@gboatman12 Yeah skip all that fluff this next quorum meeting and see how it feels. Also you have 6 months to figure it out. 😃
English

I like this, but 25 minutes for classes and quorum meetings is short. Sometimes it takes our quorum 15 minutes to get rolling. I'd be fine going back to a 3 hour block.

I'm sure many of these objections were considered by brethren & auxiliary leaders.
I have idealistic, unrealistic thoughts on CFM, esp. re: youth/kids. We can't excuse them from it just bc parents don't do it. They're full church members & should bear resp. for their gospel learning.
I don't follow your reasoning on bishops. How will this extend their church time?
English

Yep.
@lars_2025 it looks like I'm going apostate. 😉
Don't tell the bishop!
There are a lot of issues that I don't think are being thought of:
Primary subs.
Small wards where people have 2 callings that now fall on the same day and overlap.
Human nature.
Longer times at church in Sundays for bishops.
People who are single, part member families, children & youth who don't have parents who are religious/ do CFM.
That's a few of the issues.
English

@_maryrichards Ojalá que sí. If you attend my ward and it’s going over, you’ll just see me politely get up and go to the next class.
English

@hvworlton Haha is he on X? I’ll be sure to DM him right away. I don’t think people are apostates, but I do think people are over reacting. The changes are good. Will there be growing pains, sure. But that doesn’t negate my perceived good.
English

@AntHoneyJakes TEACHER: “But I can’t go as deep as I want to”
ME: “I need two white monsters to get through your class”
