Today is both a happy and sad day for us at GFD. Our colleague, friend, and overall great person is leaving us for a new adventure. Lisa has been with the COG for 12 years and has worked with us for 11 of those. We wish her the very best as she blazes her new trail.

We hosted our Fall Retiree Luncheon at the "new to them" Fire Station 3. 20 of our retirees were in attendance, and it was GREAT to see them. Some of these members opened or were hired to open the OG FS 3 in 1981. One of them traveled from Central Colorado to be here, DE White.

Please make plans to join us on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 0900, at Fire Station 2, for a Push-In Ceremony for our new Reserve Fire Engine and our new Highway Blocker Rig. See you there!

The City of Grapevine will host its annual 9/11 Day of Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, September 11 beginning at 7:40am at 1000 Texan Trail. This remembrance ceremony will be live streamed on the City of Grapevine’s Facebook platform beginning at 7:30am. We Will Never Forget!

In our efforts to become fully staffed, we have openings for FF/Paramedics. We still have two openings and anticipate a few more due to retirements in Spring 2025. The City pays 93% of our health care costs and offers TMRS retirement, retiree insurance, and many more benefits.

GFD is hiring FF/Paras & has a lateral entry program for those with continuous service. Be sure to submit your resume & certifications; these documents will help determine your initial ranking. We are particularly interested in applicants with backgrounds in TRT or Dive Team exp.

Today marks a bittersweet moment for the Grapevine Fire Department as we bid farewell to Firefighter/Paramedic/Support Services Technician Jason Shipley after 30 years of dedicated service. Despite his request for a low-key departure, Captain Dunn arranged a surprise luncheon.

We recently participated in an active threat drill with our partners at the Grapevine Police Department. We constantly train to be ready when we are needed.

The Grapevine Shield Foundation is hosting a chili cookoff in October. Dust off your chili recipe, and come on out and see how it measures up! You could walk away with the coveted Wooden Spoon Trophy.

The application period closes on September 4 1) This hiring is only for those without experience or certifications 2) You must be at least 18 & have a high school diploma or GED 3) Submit 2 letters of reference with your application 4) The salary is $68,411 while in training

This is for a fire recruit position employed by the City of Grapevine. If hired, you will attend school for about 18 months, attending classes from 8-5, Monday-Friday. Upon graduating from all cert classes, you will begin serving as an FF/Para with some phenomenal firefighters!

With a heavy heart, we announce that Chief Bill Powers has passed away. Throughout his lifetime, Chief Powers made a lasting impression on the Grapevine Fire Department and the entire community.

We are hiring for our fire recruit position. This hiring is for those without any prior experience or certifications. If you are already a FF/EMT, a FF/Paramedic, or EMT or Paramedic, this hiring process is not for you. If you have certs, stay tuned for a future process.

WE ARE HIRING FIRE RECRUITS! If you are 18 or over and have considered becoming a firefighter/paramedic, you may now apply. This hiring is for those without any current certifications who want to be a firefighter/paramedic.
