@abelanda81 Make club seasons end earlier and allow teams to have more time to prepare right before the WC. They have what, 10 days (?) now, make them 3 weeks. Solutions could be found if FIFA/UEFA sightly cared about anything other than money.

@GreekCule The timing of the windows could be better. Definitely try and avoid March window. Problem is when its WC year and the March window suddenly becomes very important. A very tricky balancing act.

Players generally care more about their national teams rather than the clubs that pay them. It's an anomaly that their actual employers have to let go off them and risk their presence during the most crucial part of the job they are paying them to do. But FIFA make money so...

@abelanda81 NT competition increase their overall value and potential marketing revenue, indeed, but the way international breaks are scheduled hurts the clubs' interests in a way that can't be compensated. I totally agree with your last point.

@GreekCule Maybe, but clubs also benefit from having these players. They pay them well because of what they generate, they also assist them in expanding their global fan numbers. It requires a balance that will probably never be reached. At least I dont think it will ever satisfy both sides

@MartinsFCB NT teams don't care. They basically need them once every two years. In the meantime they will just work with them as much as possible and potential injuries are not a problem to them.

@GreekCule home and let them rest. In Ancelotti's case, you've prepared multiple matches against him on club level, he also has 30+ games for the NT. You already know what kind of player he is, so pulling a tired player halfway across the world is just pure negligence.

@abelanda81 Paying someone (tones of money) to have them leave for free and potentially not be available during the most important part of the job you pay them for is a paradox. FIFA should arrange things differently cause clubs have every right to be furious.

@GreekCule Its a fine balance. If clubs want players from other nations making their teams better. Then they will have to understand that National Teams matter to these players. The other option is go the way of Atletic and therefore limit the number of NT that can get your players injured

@MartinsFCB FIFA is responsible for what's happening. Players will do anything to have a spot in the WC starting XI - for most of them their biggest dream. March breaks shouldn't even exist to begin with. But as you said NTs want them and FIFA want the money NT competitions give them.

@GreekCule The biggest problem is that the rules are structured in the way that national team always gets priority over the club and FIFA will always side with the national teams in such disputes. Until FIFPRO is fine with this and doesn't revolt, it won't change.

It is really simple. Name a midfielder FC Barcelona can buy for 100M who can deliver (not exceed, just match) Fermin's numbers. Then we can have a discussion. The club does not need to sell anymore. So, this is not a question to answer. Sell when he declines - for less.

We have a total of zero really good, reliable CBs and we got... Cancelo. I mean, it is what it is. Not that the players are not responsible too. This is such a ridiculous defensive level, again and again.
