@drvolts The general conclusion is correct. The number of significant digits ridiculous and the critique is correct, this does not include tailings for things like copper.

@KetanJ0 It doesn’t creat a new method nor suggest creating more of them and for sure this is everything wrong with the safeguard. It is to say if you are going to allow these indulgences for industry don’t let industry use them for itself give them to households who will struggle

I do have one critique of @GriffithSaul's essay on electrification that I didn't have space to include here.....I don't think we should be creating new methods for generating carbon offsets *anywhere*, and certainly not for household electrification!

@EVs_Brookline @PeterFoxPenner @BSmithwood @MichaelJayWalsh Local distribution networks have very high capacity. Quite typically only running at around 20% capacity. We need 200-300% to electrify everything. Prices should go down. Increase the denominator!

@JohnSmillie42 @JigarShahDC Came to realize recently that CA rates are due to low customer volume. Recovering distribution infra over low volumes means high rates, increasing volumes may lead to lower rates.
