After 48 years at the helm, our founder Patrick Allen retires this month. In 1976 Patrick, then an articled clerk, planned the formation of a law firm with a clear mission to use the law to fight injustice and help people defend and assert their rights in progressive causes. The firm opened for business in September 1977 on Camden High Street, Patrick has since steadily built it to its present state employing over 275 people and a record of ground breaking cases. His career has shaped not just HJA, but the legal landscape, from landmark disaster cases to national campaigns for justice. His impact is lasting, and his legacy runs through everything we do.
