Her grad students, terrified of this physicist-built contraption, refused to touch it "it sounds like a guillotine" (lmao) so she went full badass American professor and did the experiments herself.

It was hard to say goodbye. We enjoyed our lunchboxes in the park under wonderful weather followed by excellent coffee.

We were also happy to have Mary Roberts form @BostonCollege who presented 31P relaxometry work carried over a couple of decades with Al Redfield. Mary’s talk included a tribute to “Al’s spin spa”, such an inspiration for all of us!
