इस तरह का प्रोविजन कहीं नहीं है कि हर राज्य की लोकसभा सीटों की बढ़ोतरी 50 प्रतिशत होगी। मगर सर, हर राज्य के लोकसभा सीटों में बढ़ोतरी कितनी होगी? यह तय करने की जिम्मेदारी परिसीमन आयोग को सौंपी गयी है। अब वह जो नियम बनाएं। संसद केवल यह तय करेगी कि किस साल की जनगणना के आधार पर परिसीमन होगा।
Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Aga Syed @RuhullahMehdi stated in Parliament that while he firmly supports women’s reservation and welcomes the scheduling of discussions around it, he remains strongly opposed to delimitation practices that risk enabling deliberate gerrymandering. He cautioned that such measures, as witnessed in Kashmir, could disproportionately shift political power toward larger northern states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Gujarat, and Rajasthan - potentially allowing them to dominate national decision-making at the cost of balanced federal representation. He concluded by asserting that true democracy lies not just in inclusion, but in ensuring that representation remains fair, balanced, and just for every region of the country.
That’s what I have been asking to all these source-based journalists: show me the provision in the bills that mandate or even allow proportionate increase for each state. The Constitution Amendment bill (changes to Article 55, 81, 82 et al) does away with the existing freeze based on 1971 census. The Delimitation bill (Clause 8,9) mandates the opposite: seats to be allotted as per the latest census (means 2011). So, the conclusion is obvious: fresh allocation to be done by Delimitation Commission will have to follow population share of 2011. Can anyone show any provision in the bills (not source or assurances) that refutes this reading?

Vinod ji, A school going child will understand what has been dkne done in 1971 & what is being done now using “proportionality”. The current ratio of total seats of all Southern states is 28% of the 543 seats in Lok Sabha. After this bill also the total number is seats of all Southern states in the new Lok Sabha will remain the same 28% of 815 seats. So what is this nonsensical speech & fake narrative being spread that Southern states will lose power etc.? School children will be making memes of all such Opposition leaders that they don’t know basic mathematics😂 Check out the mobiles of kids. You will find out. Speaking with long winding statements in English doesn’t make anyone great. Content & facts are important. They alone make sense. Thanks
