Eid-ul-Fitr Marks a Celebration of Peace and Solidarity Annual Muslim festival commemorates the month of fasting Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Harrisburg joyfully announces the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of  Ramadan – a period of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims worldwide. This joyous day is celebrated to remind Muslims of the importance of caring for others. The community warmly invites members of the press and individuals from all faith backgrounds to join in this momentous occasion, which underscores themes of gratitude, piousness, and a collective responsibility towards peace and the well-being of others. Echoing the successful "Voices for Peace" initiative during Ramadan, the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration will carry forward the message of peace, unity, and the end of violence and suffering. Eid is a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to living harmoniously and supporting those in need, particularly emphasizing the dire situation faced by Muslims amid ongoing conflicts. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community continues to advocate for an immediate deescalation, ceasefire, a long-term peaceful resolution, and the upholding of human dignity and justice for all. Event:  Eid-ul-Fitr, Islam's festive holiday marking the end of the month of fasting. A complimentary lunch will be served. When:  Friday, March 20, 10:30 a.m. Location: 245 Division Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110 Media Opportunity: Eid prayers at 10:30 am, followed by the Eid sermon. Local leaders are available for interviews. About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community: The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans 213 countries with tens of millions of members. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is the oldest American-Muslim organization. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long- awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Al Hakam@AlHakamWeekly·
In any war, the first casualty is the truth. If we view the current Middle East conflict through the fog of war, it is difficult to determine the realities and motives on the ground. Warmongering propaganda has often portrayed Muslim nations as “backward” and “barbaric”, rhetoric similar to that used before the illegal Iraq War in 2003 and now directed against Iran. Iran, a nation of 90 million people and a civilisation going back 2500 years, cannot be reduced to simple good or evil narratives. Every nation has flaws and weaknesses as well as positive qualities. If the conflict is viewed through the eyes of Islamic morality rather than the fog of war and political narratives, more just and informed conclusions can be reached. The war escalated when America and Israel attacked Iran during negotiations over its nuclear programme, despite mediators stating that a deal was “within reach”. According to the Holy Quran, war is only justified for self-defence, to save people from tyranny and persecution, or to protect religious freedoms. A war of aggression is fundamentally un-Islamic, and peace talks must be treated seriously. Concerns about Iran’s nuclear programme have long been raised, yet there is no evidence it sought to build a nuclear weapon. Former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had issued a fatwa against nuclear weapons, declaring them immoral and un-Islamic. Iran has repeatedly stated that its nuclear programme was for peaceful energy purposes only. Those accusing Iran of being a nuclear threat are themselves nuclear powers, while the United States remains the only nation to have used nuclear weapons in war. Islamic teachings on warfare strictly prohibit killing women, children, the elderly and other noncombatants, and forbid destroying crops, property or places of worship. Even during conflict, Muslims are commanded to uphold justice and honour their pledges. Ultimately, the Muslim world must strive to live as brothers, adopt Islamic principles of peace and unity, and rely on Allah rather than outside powers for protection and prosperity. "It appears as if, in their view, the lives of Muslims hold no importance." During his Friday Sermon last week, His Holiness addressed the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. He said that after an American missile bombed a school in Iran, killing scores of Iranian schoolgirls, even Western commentators observed that had they been Israeli, American or Western children, the media coverage would have been endless. But no such concern exists for Muslim lives.

Arab nations and the Iranian government should seek peace based on mutual Islamic beliefs; otherwise, anti-Islam interests will seek to take advantage of this situation, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, said.

The Need for Muslim Unity Despite some Muslim countries possessing natural resources and wealth, they hold no special status in the eyes of world powers. Nor do they play a meaningful role in promoting the religion of Islam, and we do not witness sufficient effort to follow its true teachings. The consequences of this are clear: as has been stated many times before, non-Muslim powers take advantage of these circumstances. Instead of pursuing only their vested interests, Muslim governments, politicians and monarchies should strive to unite as one Muslim Ummah. Only then will they be able to safeguard themselves from the onslaught of worldly powers, uphold their honour, and prevent anti-Islamic forces from sowing division. ▶️ Stream the full Friday Sermon now on the MTAi App, via mta.tv, or via youtube.com/mtaonline. House Speaker Mike Johnson’s description of Islam as a “misguided religion” is an unfortunate and irresponsible statement, and Speaker Johnson must clarify if he meant to attack Islam in this way. Islam is one of the world’s great Abrahamic faiths, practiced peacefully by nearly two billion people worldwide and millions of Americans who contribute to this country every day as doctors, teachers, soldiers, entrepreneurs and public servants. Leaders entrusted with the highest offices in the United States should promote understanding and unity—not stigmatize entire faith communities. Religious literacy and basic respect are the minimum standards we should expect from those in positions of power.

Consequences of Conflict and Resilience of Iran   When war occurs, harm and damage are suffered on both sides. Iran had warned that if they were attacked, they would retaliate against the foreign bases. Despite this, Iran was attacked, and even their leader and family members were targeted. The Western forces assumed this would topple the regime. However, even those who were initially opposed have now elevated his status, and he has gained greater support within the country.   (Friday Sermon, 6th March 2026)

During these days of growing global geopolitical instability, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s message remains consistent, that of peace, restraint, and the protection of innocent life. "We are deeply concerned whenever conflict escalates and civilians are put at risk.” “Our worldwide head, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has repeatedly urged de-escalation, an end to hostilities, and lasting peace based on absolute justice.” “We urge leaders to prioritize diplomacy, to uphold international law, and to ensure humanitarian aid reaches those in need.” “As a faith community, we also emphasize the power and necessity of prayer for peace and for the protection of the innocent.” #trueislam #LoveForAllHatredForNone #voicesforpeace
