Due to heavily overcast skies and to avoid unnecessary concern, today's audible siren test will be canceled. The system remains available to be activated if needed.

There is a potential for patchy fog this morning, so allow yourself a little extra time to arrive at your destination. Just a reminder, we will be under a Wind Advisory today from 11a- 7p. We can expect winds of 15-30 mph gusting to 45-50 mph, and possible thunderstorms tonight.

Today’s test of the Outdoor Warning Sirens has been canceled. Audible siren tests are not conducted on days when the weather could cause unnecessary concern, such as today’s heavily overcast conditions. The system has been remotely polled and confirmed to be fully operational.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect for Hamilton County until 8a on Monday morning. In addition, temperatures will drop overnight, causing the potential of slick roads in the morning.

Practice Makes Prepared Hamilton County will sound outdoor warning sirens on Tuesday at approximately 10:15 a.m., which is outside our typical Friday testing routine. This special activation is part of Indiana’s Statewide Tornado Drill, giving everyone a chance to practice.

Update - The Dense Fog and Travel Advisories have been extended to 10:00 a.m. this morning (Friday).

The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for Hamilton County through 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. A Travel Advisory has been issued and will be lifted once the Dense Fog Advisory expires.

Update #2 at 10:21 p.m. Public safety officials have lifted the majority of the evacuation area. Residents are cleared to return home, with the exception of those who live in the 200 block of E. Howard Ave. If you live in the 200 block, you may NOT return home yet.

Jackson Township Fire Department is directing the public to evacuate from East and Howard Streets because of a main gas line strike. The evacuation is 1/4 mile radius from East and Howard Streets. Stay tuned to local & social media for further instructions and all-clear message.

UPDATE #1 at 7:46pm - Good evening, a gas main has been struck on Howard Ave. The residents being displaced in this quarter-mile area are welcome to come to the Arcardia Town Hall.
