Thank you for His Majesty The King’s call – screening can save lives by finding cancer early, when treatment is more likely to be successful, and in some cases preventing it from developing it at all. Please do make time to take up your screening appointment. @wesstreeting

A special message from The King, in support of Stand Up To Cancer. 🧡 As part of this year’s @SU2CUK campaign, @CR_UK and @Channel4, with support from the @NHS, have launched a nationwide Screening Checker to help people find out which cancer screening programmes they are eligible for and seek helpful advice on the process. 🔗 screeningchecker.co.uk

Attending your screening appointments is one of the simplest ways to look after your long-term health. It looks for early signs of certain conditions so that treatment — or extra support — can be offered sooner. More info ➡️ nhs.uk/screening

Regular breast screening can find breast cancer before you feel it or notice any symptoms. If you are a woman, aged 50 or over, you'll be invited for breast screening every 3 years, until your 71st birthday. ℹ️ nhs.uk/service-search… #StandUpToCancer #SU2C

Tune in to @Channel4 at 8pm for a unique and personal message from HM The King. As a cancer survivor myself, I couldn’t be more grateful to the King for sharing his own reflections in this way with @SU2CUK. 1 in 2 of us will get cancer. All of us are affected by it.

A powerful message from His Majesty The King. I know I speak for the entire country when I say how glad I am that his cancer treatment will be reduced in the new year. Early cancer screening saves lives.

A chickenpox vaccine is going to be offered to young children on the NHS next year. Last year, no childhood vaccine reached the target needed to ensure diseases can't spread. Stephen Kinnock, the Minister of State for Care, told @annaefoster that misinformation is a problem.

We're launching a chickenpox vaccination programme which will protect around half a million children each year. From January 2026, eligible children will get an MMRV vaccine to protect against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox. Eligibility will be announced in due course.

From 1 July, some women aged 25-49 will be invited for cervical screening every 5 years instead of 3. This change is based on strong evidence showing that people without HPV are at very low risk of cervical cancer. If you missed your last one, book an appointment with your GP.

From July, younger women aged 25-49 who test negative for HPV – meaning they are at very low risk of cervical cancer over the next ten years – will safely be invited at five-year intervals rather than three, in line with major clinical evidence. ➡️ england.nhs.uk/2025/06/nhs-ro…

Attended my first Wednesday audience with Pope Leo. Quite an experience-sunburn will pass but the memory of this encounter will linger. St Augustine (of Hippo!) was an immediate connection between Bp Rowan and the Pope. Getting used to being Director of ⁦@AnglicanCentre⁩.

Giving thanks this morning for the life of Pope Francis and praying for RC brothers and sisters in Christ. His legacy is one of deep spirituality and courageous apostolic leadership with a loving heart. It is beautiful that God called him home at Eastertide. May he rest in peace.
