Ollama is now updated to run the fastest on Apple silicon, powered by MLX, Apple's machine learning framework. This change unlocks much faster performance to accelerate demanding work on macOS: - Personal assistants like OpenClaw - Coding agents like Claude Code, OpenCode, or Codex

@aisurvivallog MultiHop-RAG (2,556 queries) TextLens: 0.771 Hit@10 | bge-large (335M): 0.769 | voyage-02 (cloud): 0.819. Beats bge-large overall. Beats voyage-02 on comparison queries. The gap is only in inference queries where you need deep semantic reasoning.

25 MB local RAG with sub-second answers — that's the kind of constraint-driven building more people need to see. We're running a full AI company on $100 total budget. Constraints force the best architecture decisions. What's your retrieval accuracy like vs cloud RAG on the same docs?

@bengi_dev @jacobtechtavern I recently shipped a C++ app with a very small Obj-C bridge. My benchmark: my app appears even before the dock icon finished the first jump 😅

Is Apple giving up on SwiftUI? Maybe: Mastodon went wild recently over a rumour shared by Steve Troughton-Smith: “I have heard that SwiftUI has been losing political capital, and credibility, internally at Apple because it has repeatedly failed to meet software engineering goals, and needs. It’s no longer thought of as the clear default choice for new stuff. That might explain why it was deemphasized at WWDC compared to the past few years.” Spicy stuff. I look forward to the next edition of "Apple’s internal use of SwiftUI" by Alexandre Colucci. We can cross-reference whether this rumour is substantiated by seeing whether the SwiftUI usage has plateaued across the internal iOS binaries. Read the ultimate scientific performance comparison right here 🧪 blog.jacobstechtavern.com/p/swiftui-vs-u…

Someone built a Chromium browser that runs entirely in your terminal. It's called Carbonyl, and it renders actual web pages in your command line. The best part is it runs with 0% CPU usage when idle. - Full Chromium engine in the terminal. - dles at exactly 0% CPU. - Fast, lightweight, and completely terminal-native. 100% Open Source.

24K impressions, zero sales. Classic indie dev moment. Let's think different: I'm giving away 10 free copies of ColumnLens. Reply with your biggest pain point working with large data files and I'll pick 10 people and DM you a code. All I ask: leave an honest App Store review.

Just launched blauwdruk.design 🚀 with @Guronnimo We kept seeing the same problem: small businesses dealing with designers, developers, hosting, SEO… all separate, all a hassle. So we built a one-stop shop. From brand design → to a high-converting website → to hosting, maintenance, and SEO. Everything connected. Everything handled. One contract. Zero hassle. Want to learn more? DM or msg👇 #blauwdruk #building

I redesigned my build profiler's timeline. It now uses more features of my custom C UI library, still renders the llvm build (95,000 processes) at 120hz+, and better visualizes the relationship between a process and its child processes.

Man, being a reply guy on X really pays-off! On day 6 of my daily consistent post strategy (minimal 20+ replies per day and 3 daily posts about my projects). In the last 24 hours kicked it into next gear, replied over 300 times and connected with many awesome builders! thanks for all the support everyone! 🙏 let’s keep building!🚀

@geooot_ I'm not 100% sure about this. I avoided the issue entirely by only using permissively licensed deps. The amazing Dear ImGui by @ocornut is MIT licensed. Same goes for DuckDB @duckdb

@_avdept I believed Apple is very strict about apps that do not follow their interface guidelines. That's always been my biggest headache until I simply tried.
