50K+ a year and 30% minimum PPA. That's what's needed to start to sort teaching out. Full backing for teachers and schools on behaviour would be next. Stop spending money on think tanks, surveys, reports, OFSTED, bursaries, schemes and speeches. Just do this.

Have you ever read a book that made you cry? I’ve listened to songs that have made me cry. I’ve watched movies that have made me cry. But I’ve NEVER once read a book that made me cry. Name a book in the comments that brought you to tears.

What a great way to finish the week with a visit from Jess Lord from @looknorthBBC. Students learnt about the world of journalism, discussed current media platforms and the impact they have on our lives. A super experience. Thank you.

What a brilliant opportunity for our students to have Jess Lord from the BBC in today to deliver a PSHE lesson based around a career in journalism and also to launch the @BBCYoungReport competition. Please click the link below to find out more. bbc.co.uk/teach/young-re…

@lkm_eng Theatre trips, visiting writers - source upcoming local writers who might be willing to come and share their work with students or possibly run a workshop?

Barbara Bleiman 🎓 Education is Conversation
Just read 'The Climbers' on the recommendation of @TeresaCremin . Oh my, what a superb book for KS3 readers who need a short, punchy, brilliant read to draw them in. I absolutely loved it! Barrington Stoke do such a superb job for this kind of reader.

I am 47. My pensionable age is 67. I do not intend to teach for another 20 years. I don’t think I could! What are you teachers out there doing when leaving the profession?

Teacher retention: if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals.

I love it when people tell you the first record they ever bought was something really cool like Ghost Town or London’s Calling, and mine was Papa Abraham and the Smurfs.
