@BalticDanny @BirthGauge They are much more, the census gave only 70k Roma while in reality the Slovak government estimated 400k. This is due to Roma hiding their ethnicity under Slovak or Hungarian. They are much more in the east maybe even majority in some places. They are estimated at 8-9k births.

@HurryRainer @BirthGauge It shows Romani is just 15% of population in Sabinov district. Their population is much younger thank Slovakian I imagine, but still for 15% to have such an impact. It would be interesting to know if Romani having more kids also influence locals to have more. Ethnic competition.

Preliminary data is here, in Russian and accessible by Russian IP: several takes 1) Tuva and Chechnya in steady decline 2) some ethnic Russian regions continue decline, some rise 3) March is better than feared and TFR will likely be higher than last year as in warm season birth rate is higher

@EurocentricTuga @BurnEr92976227 @greatreversal_ Makes a lot of sense 10k isn't a small amount. Also foreign born NHWM have seen a bigger decline % wise compared to native born NHWM which would mean MENA + other non-white groups grouped up with Whites are seeing a bigger decline.

The TFR in the US declined to 1.574 children per woman in 2025, down from 1.60 in 2024. Here are the TFRs by race (2024 in brackets): Non-hispanic White 1.54 (1.53) Non-hispanic Black 1.44 (1.50) Hispanic 1.86 (1.93)

Turkey's TFR is about to drop below 1.0 DESPITE high religiosity 🇹🇷 Just imagine how worse it will be for Muslims when religiosity starts dropping Muslims are religious and materialistic simultaneously (same phenomenon even in countries like Indonesia 🇮🇩) At least with others, there is a possibility of a rebound. These people are crashing in TFR even when under Sharia (eg Iran + Aceh)
