@TheDagda___ @RyanRozbiani Is breaking out of the sandbox on latest OSES really that easy. But I guess they have access to 0days that we're not really aware of. What sources are you getting this information from again? And doesn't this break major laws, I'm sure it does.

They were hunting for browsers with multiple exploitable weaknesses, then using those chains to break out of the sandbox and silently install malware, trojans, or whatever payload they wanted onto the phone. The fix is actually simple, and I’ll have a solution soon. The key is stopping the reconnaissance phase, cut that off, and the attack dies before it begins. I already have an idea that does exactly that.

In your statement what do you think concludes as a weak browser, a weak browser in general still shouldn't give device access at least not in the way that most people would think. Unless the device is rooted or jailbroken. What was their spyware really doin?

It was a two-pronged attack. The first ad carried no malware, it simply gathered the phone’s details and checked if it was vulnerable, then the second ad was delivered, the one built to jump out of the browser sandbox and install itself automatically. No clicks needed, just a weak browser. I have a solution coming for this

I always say this, the bigger the software, the bigger the website, the bigger the organisation, they'll introduce more features, unnecessary ones, which would eventually lead to more ways to exploit that web/app.
