@FreeEvidence @Damoment83211 @ininghe_ You fool, it says the word "egusi" not the soup. Are you this daft?
English

@Damoment83211 @ininghe_ Even your ibo historians documented Egusi has soup originating from Yorubas. It was loaned to you. There is a reason why your ancestors called Yorubas Ofemmanu.

English

I'm sorry, but as a Yoruba person, you don't have the range for this conversation.

No Soup in Nigeria is better than Egusi soup.

@Biggy_bambam @trigottista @MasterBolaji You are actually stupid arguing with people what a word means in their language. Ọ la n'iyi means a person or thing that has been uselessed or condemned or gone to waste. If you tell an Igbo man your name is Olaniyi, he go first burst laugh knowing what it means.
English

@trigottista @MasterBolaji It is igbo? And the pronunciation of olaniyi in his skit is igbo pronunciation too?
So Yoruba and Igbo have the same pronunciation for the same word now?
You guys are complete BAASTAD.
English

@MasterBolaji What is this one talking about? I don't know about olaniyi bụ ọla n'iyi is Igbo. It means "it has gone to waste" or "it's condemned". It just means something or somebody that has been uselessed. Don't say what you don't know.
English

@ArinzeKins71181 @LarryIk3 @VivianIfeomaOj I honestly don't know how some of you think. It's just different dialects. Some people say "gaa" others Say "jee" meaning to go. Chinasaokwu: God will answer for and;
Chukwujekwu: God is going to respond/speak are almost the same thing just different in dialects (olumba).
English

@LarryIk3 @VivianIfeomaOj You are wrong if chinasa is God will speak for me then what is chukwujekwu

@sleekwhale @btunddej @treazyblaq Because people were slowly replacing them with words in your language. Sorry but if Hausa/Ibibio was the Yoruba in this case, she would still do the same thing. Ndo!
English

@I_AM_DGD @btunddej @treazyblaq She may have chosen to use any other language but Yoruba, consistently for all the words that she translated to Igbo. The rationale?
English

As Igbo people, it’s important we know and use the names that belong to us. Language is identity, and the moment we start replacing our words, we slowly lose pieces of who we are.
It’s called Akwa-otu, not asoebi.
It’s called Agwa, not ewa.
It’s called Udara, not agbalumo.
It’s called Ichafu, not gele.
It’s called Ogiri, not iru.
It’s called Utara, not eba.
It’s called Ofe Nsala, not white soup.
It’s called Ofe akwu, not banga stew.
The list goes on.
We don’t have to abandon our language to be understood. Say it in Igbo, and if needed, explain it. That’s how culture is preserved. That’s how identity survives.
English

@btunddej @treazyblaq Cars, bicycles, aeroplanes, hospitals, phones, guns are not African culture but we have names for them including Igbos and Yorubas. Nobody is stealing your culture. It remains your identity (asoebi). She's just explaining their Igbo names. That's all!
English

It's important to respect the origins of our cultures.
Aso-ebi is a Yoruba tradition, not an Igbo invention.
Renaming it akwa-otu doesn't change its roots, it's cultural erasure, plain and simple. Language is identity, but identity doesn't erase history. Let's celebrate our heritage, not rewrite it.
You and your kind are criminals of culture. What you are doing is cultural erasure and language appropriation. You take something with clear Yoruba roots, like aso-ebi, claim it as Igbo by renaming it akwa-otu, and frame it as a matter of identity.
In Yoruba, our forebears already had a name for people like you: Oníjè àṣà – literally, one who devours or steals culture. You are simply a culture thief and language appropriator.

@Gogo_of_X @omoelerinjare @IykeNwaObi @Wazobianaiaja @officialbat419 @lekki8721 @nkwukagram @NkyEzenwa @Okorojacob4 @Doyinabiolaa @Favour_Q @Amaebo3 This is ngwa dialect by ndị ngwa in Abia state. I grew up in Aba I understood it clearly.
Ihe a bụ olu ndị ngwa nọ na steeti Abia. Na ala Aba ka m toro, ya mere m ji aghọta ya ọfuma.

@omoelerinjare @IykeNwaObi @Wazobianaiaja @officialbat419 @lekki8721 @nkwukagram @NkyEzenwa @Okorojacob4 @Doyinabiolaa @Favour_Q @Amaebo3 This Igbo is too strong for my understanding oo... What dialect is this
English

@Adakolegend @Jessy_oo1 @drkenon2 Well my generations are wise. Igbos are not to be blamed for anything happening in Nigeria today. If they decide to leave tomorrow, they did nobody harm, just seeking for their greener future.
Nevertheless, in all God is in control!
English

@Jessy_oo1 @I_AM_DGD @drkenon2 Some one like is worse than alkaida and bokoharam combine. Your kinsmen want to expose Middle-belt Christians to Fulani to take for settlement while Igbo exit Nigeria at rhe expense of middle belt Christians. What a wicked world. Infact ur generation na big fool.
English

@Adakolegend @drkenon2 25 years? It took us one bloody retaliation to end their killings of our brothers. I don't think you really know who Igbos are.
By the way, I really feel for u but we are not the cause of this issue. We leaving is not a big deal, it's not as if we are even leaving sef. Wake up!
English

@I_AM_DGD @drkenon2 The Fulani your kinsmen want to handover us to, have been trying to penetrate us Middle belt Christians for 25 years if not for us in the middle belt this systemic killing of Christians would have overwhelmed you Igbo bro. We fought your fight without raising a flag of awareness
English

@Adakolegend @drkenon2 At what extent? Igbos were being constantly targeted/killed in the north anytime there was a conflict. The only reason it's reduced is because the last time it happened, there was a bloody revenge in the southeast.
If not, we might still be hearing Igbos were killed in d north.
English

@Adakolegend @drkenon2 You are misunderstanding me bro. Nobody is more Christian than the other. I just responded to your first tweet. Indeed Christians should unite together for their own good but just remember Igbos have been seeking separation before any of these killings began. That's my point.
English

@I_AM_DGD @drkenon2 So those Christian tribes in The Middle belt are not Christians enof? That they deserve to be killed or Islamise after the Igbo must have left usin the middle belt as a tools for settlement? This senseless thought is the reason why every tribes in Nigeria hates Fulani today.
English

@Adakolegend @drkenon2 The thing is, the middle belt has so many different tribes under the same religion but the South East has one tribe under the same religion. If anything dared happen to Enugu/Ebonyi people, the others will immediately rise in up for defense which was why ESN was formed.
English

@drkenon2 Igbos are becoming selfish about this whole thing.. do you people know the majority of Christians are in the middle belt?
English

@FavourOluebu19 @PulseNigeria247 Nope, you are wrong.
Ugu is the pumpkin leaf
Ugwu is a hill or mountain (e.g Enugwu (Enugu) state means up the hill or hill top.
Ugwu also means respect or honour like we say in Igbo Kwanyere ya ugwu (honour him/respect him).
So try to understand before you conclude.
