Some insights from the Old Mutual’s Financial Wellness Monitor survey of ~650 respondents, conducted in October 2025:
—30% of respondents report earning more than they did a year ago, up from 22% in 2024
—54% have the same or higher debt levels, while 40% are borrowing for everyday expenses, highlighting persistent financial strain
—70% expect their financial situation to improve in the next 6 months
—26% are “poly-jobbers” (multiple income streams), up from 20% in 2024
—43% remain financially stressed, showing the recovery remains uneven
—53% have savings that can last at least 3 months, but ~4 in 10 remain financially vulnerable
