The National Security Adviser @Official_ONSA , Mallam Nuhu Ribadu @NuhuRibadu , yesterday co-chaired the 4th Session of the UKโNigeria Security and Defence Partnership Dialogue alongside his British counterpart, Jonathan Powell, in Abuja.
The dialogue underscored Nigeriaโs commitment to strengthening strategic international partnerships as part of a comprehensive approach to addressing contemporary security challenges.
Under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT , the Federal Government has continued to pursue a broad-based and coordinated strategy to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality. Recognising that todayโs security threats are increasingly transnational in nature, Nigeria has intensified engagement with key global partners while simultaneously mobilising domestic stakeholders to strengthen national resilience and security coordination.
As National Security Adviser, Mal Ribadu has played a pivotal role in driving this agenda, galvanising international support for Nigeriaโs security efforts and coordinating a whole-of-government approach at home. His stewardship has been marked by greater inter-agency collaboration, stronger partnerships with friendly nations, and a sustained focus on improving the effectiveness of Nigeriaโs security architecture.
The UKโNigeria Security and Defence Partnership Dialogue reflects the growing recognition that collective action and strategic partnerships remain indispensable to overcoming complex security threats. The engagement also highlights Nigeriaโs determination to leverage global cooperation, intelligence sharing, capacity building, and joint operational support to enhance national security outcomes.
