I’m freaking tf out y’all! As a North Carolina girl, I’ve been eating Neese’s my whole life. Their sausage and liver puddin’ have always been in my kitchen. When their products disappeared last year, we were told they’d be back. But now their website is gone. Google lists them as permanently closed. Does anyone know what in the world is happening?? What are we supposed to eat now? 😭

@ChaddingtonSC @heartsabustin Me too! I’ve never been a salmon or halibut fan but I love it the way the cousins marinate and grill it. There’s plenty of fried stuff too (the HUSHPUPPIES!). It’s nice to spend a day with family. A DAY.🤣

@ChaddingtonSC We are going to a family reunion/fish fry in the NC mountains. DH cousins go to Alaska every year fishing and bring back loads of fish. They grill and fry 30-50 pounds. Everybody brings sides. It should be fun. 🐟

Any big plans for the weekend? I’m going to pick up my daughter from school tomorrow and return to watch it rain the rest of the weekend. Maybe a Costco run

This couple is getting ready to have a baby, the woman plans on having her husband as well as her own mother present because the hospital only allows two people in the delivery room. The only problem is that the father’s mom insists that she be allowed to be present ok and feels her daughter in law is being selfish by choosing her own mother over the mother in law to be present. I feel that this is their moment and their baby. They should be respected for their decision and it’s not like they are denying the mother in law the chance to see the new baby when the baby is born. I feel the wife wanted her support team there and that’s perfectly fine. But what do you think of the dad’s mo, is it fair to her that she’s being denied entry to the delivery room?

I finally convinced my husband to get rid of his old towels (some of them are at least 15 years old) and bought a couple new ones. What do I do with these ? I don’t think Goodwill will take them.

@dantypo I go on our subdivisions Facebook page and ask for recommendations for various trades. Tree guys, landscapers, electricians, plumbers etc. I ask for recommendations of people that they’ve actually USED. My neighbors are quick to respond and they’ve been quite helpful.

Anyone who knows me knows that I support the trades. But MANY in the trades greatly overvalue their work. Real World Example: I had a young g guy starting out in plumbing. I needed a new well pump. It was in the basement, and NOT in the casing. I told him I’d buy the pump and he could just do the instal. He said he’d take at most 2 hours and said he’d swing by and do it as a job to fill a gap in his schedule. Told me $500. I figured that’d be about $50 in travel both ways and $200 an hour. More than fair. He did the job and said, “That was more work than I figured. I probably should have charged you $1,000.” I asked, “well did you have to buy anything else… did it take more than 2 hours?” He said no and so I simply said, “You just made $250 an hour on filler work… $500 for a 3 hour work day including travel and you didn’t buy any parts. That’s a pretty good day. How many people do you think can just throw $500 at you for 2 hours of work?” Another plumber recently came out to quote replacing 2 faucets in our employee bathrooms. Including labor and material, he quoted $1,600. The faucets were $70 bucks each. So I asked how long he thought it would take. He said 2 to 3 hours. So I said, “let’s just say travel is an hour… you think your labor is worth $500 an hour!?” I asked him how much it was to come give me the estimate, and he said it was no charge. I gave him a $50 and told him that his price was laughable. I did it myself in like 30 minutes. My point isn’t that time and knowledge isn’t money. I appreciate that maybe these little jobs are “beneath” them. But that’s what filler work is. But I get the feeling some of these guys want to make their week’s money in a few hours. The second guy could have got the job if he’d have quoted me $750. It’d have cost him maybe $150 in parts, and including travel he could have made $325 an hour.

@TheMorningSpew2 I was in the grocery store today. There was a screaming, crying infant (6-7 months old) in a car seat wedged into the parents grocery cart. His parents ignored it the entire time I was in the store. (20-25 minutes) I had compassion for the baby. Contempt for the parents.

One thing I can’t stand is adults who have no compassion for a crying baby.

@Lisellle I kept two 8” layer pans, a springform pan, a cupcake tin and a Bundt pan. That’s it. They are all professional grade that I got at a restaurant supply store when we lived in California. It was nice to purge some things. I was pretty ruthless this time. 😳
