Drake called Kendrick's music "slave" music. The fan turn that line around and represented Drake as a slave master and Kendrick whipping him. You guys will never beat the slow accusations omg

@Implode280459 @ozsarchive @KdotF81298 you’re genuinely not capable of critical thinking. if you hate black people so much why even listen to rap

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 That's just sort of how the cookie crumbles with rap battles. It's never been about what is factually correct, it's about what sounds true. Did pac fuck biggies wife? We don't actually know, but the line hits because it was plausible.

@Implode280459 @KdotF81298 As you’ve said he’s not very public so we can’t assume that’s all he’s donated. I can see why Drake would use it tho, it just seems like an iffy angle when people can just search up whether it’s Tr/F. But again, I think the bigger issue was mainly how he set up & phrased the bar

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 Not saying it isn't cool. Just saying he bought a $40 million dollar mansion in the same year he claimed to represent the culture. Drake is honest about his materialistic lifestyle. Kendrick is critical of Drake's materialism while also participating in the same behavior.

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 Idk that seems super inconsequential for someone worth $140 million dollars. If Im Drake and I've done more charity for a community than someone who has been claiming to represent them and their struggles, I'm totally putting that in a song. Kendrick has been around for 12 years

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 Objectively? It's very subjective. Unless you can point something out to me, Kendrick has never really done anything of consequence. Kendrick is far too private to put himself out there to actually create any change or build anything.

@Implode280459 @KdotF81298 I think the biggest issue with Drake’s verse is that specific part was just objectively false because there’s like plenty of things on record pertaining to Kendrick donating back to his community over the years as well as actually protesting. Idek how that line ever got traction.

@TheMoneyToucher @ozsarchive @KdotF81298 Civil rights movement was created by the group of people you like the least 😂. The labels making bank off of these black victimhood raps. Guess what religion they practice? Your worldview was created by the very people you hate 😂😂.

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 The next lines are "you're acting like an activist, it's make-believe, don't go back to your hood and plant some money trees". I interpreted that verse as Kendrick obsessing over an issue in his music while never contributing anything of value to fix the issue.

@Implode280459 @KdotF81298 In the context of a rap battle it’s fine to use as ammo, anything goes tbh. But he said you’re rapping like you’re tryna get the slaves free. He could’ve phrased it entirely different if that’s the angle . That’s like anti black asf considering what Kendrick’s subject matter is

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 I would argue that a lot of his raps are meant to push an agenda, not in the negative sense. He uses his art for activism and that's ok. I think he does a little more than touch on subjects.

@Implode280459 @KdotF81298 We don’t know his lifestyle. We know what he does for a period of time the every 4 years he comes out of hiding and drops. He’s protested, donated, and more. He’s a Rapper* , just cuz he touches the topic doesn’t mean his life needs to revolve around it. & the crown had purpose.

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 This is all within the context of the rap battle. I'm giving my personal opinion on the issue, sure. But my main point was that this is fair game for a rap battle. If someone lives a different lifestyle than they have in their music, you can totally call that out.

@Implode280459 @KdotF81298 Whether you agree or disagree with the purpose or his choice to choose that to symbolize his message that’s a different conversation. I feel like him being under scrutiny makes no sense. He’s imperfect and human like the rest of us. Atleast his art has genuine substance

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 So what? Rap is an art form. This hip hop purist gatekeeping is so delusional. Art has always been subjective, speaking on a certain subject matter doesn't mean that art is more meaningful than another. I'm assuming every movie you watch has to be about social issues?

@Implode280459 @KdotF81298 and most of the people who make it out of them communities and get a platform similar to his go in the studio and make degenerative music, nothing impactful, memorable , or that stands for something.

@TheMoneyToucher @ozsarchive @KdotF81298 I don't like victimhood raps. White people are the vast majority of hip hop consumers, and we have to listen to music saying white people are holding down the black community or something. The black community is held down by black people.

@ozsarchive @Implode280459 @KdotF81298 because this guy isnt a drake fan or a kendrick hater or a rap fan in general he's literally a racist white guy ragebaiting because he doesnt like when black people talk about the black experience

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 The black community doesn't have a lot of people speaking up? Since when? Again the subject isn't the problem, but he puts himself on a pedestal despite doing nothing to deserve it

@Implode280459 @KdotF81298 I’m not sure why there’s such a negative response to his subject matter when it’s something MOST artists don’t touch and when he does it, he articulates everything very well through his lyricism. He’s a voice for a community that doesn’t have a lot of ppl speaking up for it.

@ozsarchive @KdotF81298 The problem is that it doesn't reflect in his lifestyle. He criticizes materialism and then wears a $2 million thorn crown. He is an activist that doesn't pursue change. If anything the tension between races is worse.

@Implode280459 @KdotF81298 God forbid a guy talks about the struggles a community he identifies with faces and people enjoy being represented or hearing the stories portrayed through his lyrics enough for him to make $ from it.

@KdotF81298 So his music doesn't talk about institutionalized racism? He doesn't fixate on racial stress? He doesn't profit from it? I'm confused how that isn't a fair criticism if you're in a rap battle.

@Implode280459 Kendrick raps about what is going on in his head and his own actions more than racism. Again you guys do not listen to Kendrick and assume he is a Hip Hop version of Malcom X when he is not.

@NorthStar623 @Implode280459 Nothing Drake does requires deep analysis. He is a superficial rapper who misrepresented what Kendrick was doing with his music. Since you are a Drake connoisseur, who is the proverbial "slaves" that Drake was talking about?
