It has been a pleasure to work with Prime Minister Orbán and to witness Albania and Hungary grow closer. I wish my good friend Viktor all the very best in this new chapter of his life. At the same time, I warmly congratulate Peter Magyar on his truly impressive victory. Today, I had a first courtesy meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of #Serbia in Tirana, H.E. Slobodan Vukčević. Our discussion focused on advancing bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest, reaffirming the importance of constructive #dialogue and cooperation between our two countries. We emphasized the need to further strengthen economic and trade relations, as well as to make tangible progress in areas that directly benefit our citizens. I stressed the importance of preserving #peace, #security, and #stability in the region, underlining that cooperation in key sectors such as energy, transport, connectivity, and economic development remains essential for enhancing prosperity and improving the well-being of our peoples. A more interconnected and resilient #WesternBalkans is in the shared interest of all. #Albania remains firmly committed to a future of the Western Balkans anchored in the European Union. In this context, I underlined that responsible political discourse is essential: rhetoric that fuels division or incites hate has no place in our common #European path. Instead, we must foster trust, good neighbourly relations, and reconciliation. We acknowledged our diametrally opposite positions on on #Kosovo. I reiterated Albania’s clear and principled stance: the Republic of #Kosova is an independent state, a functioning democracy, and an open society built on equality and the rule of law. Albania strongly supports the EU-facilitated dialogue, which should lead, without delay, to full normalization of relations and mutual recognition, as a key step toward lasting peace and stability in the region. I also underlined the need to ensure that the rights of Albanians in #Presheva, #Bujanovc, and #Medvegja are fully respected and effectively implemented, in line with both national legislation and international standards, while ensuring inclusive socio-economic development. I highlighted that this issue will remain one of my priorities, and that addressing it constructively is essential for building trust, strengthening good neighbourly relations. Advancing regional cooperation and aligning with European values and standards remain the surest path toward sustainable development, stability, and a shared European future.

I participated today in the virtual meeting convened by #UK Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, bringing together counterparts from over 40 countries to address the urgent need to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of #Hormuz following its effective closure by Iran in the context of the ongoing conflict. The discussions focused on coordinated international efforts, through diplomatic and political means but not only, to ensure the safe and sustainable reopening of this critical maritime route, which is vital for global energy security and economic stability. Unity, coordination, and a rules-based international approach are essential. #Freedom of navigation is a fundamental principle that must be upheld. #Albania stands ready to working closely with partners and allies to support de-escalation efforts and contribute to collective intitiatives and solutions. #StrongerTogether

As #Passover begins, I extend my warmest wishes to all who celebrate. In the best spirit of tolerance and respect for different cultures and traditions, we join our Jewish friends in marking this meaningful occasion. We #Albanians know well the price of #freedom and the importance of preserving it — values that lie at the very heart of this holiday. OTD, 17 years ago, Albania took a decisive step into its future by becoming a full member of #NATO — a historic milestone that firmly anchored our Euro-Atlantic path and cemented the foundations of our national security. Since that defining moment, Albania has proven itself a committed and reliable Ally — contributing to NATO missions and operations, promoting stability across the Western Balkans, including by consistently supporting #Kosovo’s #Euro-Atlantic perspective. Today, #Albania stands fully aligned with NATO’s evolving priorities: from fair burden-sharing and increased defence investment, to strengthening resilience, embracing innovation, and advancing new technologies in a rapidly changing security landscape. Looking ahead, Albania is honored to prepare for hosting the first NATO Summit ever in our region. This is more than an event; it is a clear expression of trust in Albania’s role, credibility, and contribution within the Alliance. Had a cordial meeting with the Ambassador of #Greece to #Albania, Ms. Lambrini Komini, reaffirming the positive and productive state of our relations and our enduring partnership. Greece remains a key strategic partner for Albania. 🇦🇱🇬🇷 I reiterated the firm commitment of the Albanian government to addressing all issues on our shared agenda in a constructive and forward-looking spirit. Our shared priority remains the further deepening of economic cooperation, particularly in key sectors such as #energy, #trade, #tourism, and #infrastructure, while also enhancing #connectivity and #investment opportunities. We also underlined the importance of strong people-to-people ties. The Albanian community in Greece and the Greek minority in Albania continue to serve as vital bridges, strengthening mutual understanding and bringing our societies closer together. We highly appreciate Greece’s consistent and valuable support for Albania’s EU integration and for the broader advancement of the #WesternBalkans, in line with the #ThessalonikiAgenda. 🇦🇱🇧🇬Had a thoughtful and constructive exchange with the Ambassador of #Bulgaria, Ivaylo Kirov, highlighting the strong and friendly relations that unite our two countries, including Bulgaria’s continued support for #Albania’s EU accession process. We explored concrete ways to further deepen Albania–Bulgaria bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas that enhance connectivity, trade, and sustainable economic growth. We also shared the view that #CorridorVIII represents a strategic Pan-European axis. In the current geopolitical context, its importance is even greater, serving not only as a key driver of regional connectivity and development, but also as a critical corridor for security, and overall resilience in Southeast Europe.

🇦🇱🇦🇹 I had a very good meeting with the Ambassador of #Austria in Tirana, Mrs. Monika Zach. We reaffirmed the excellent and longstanding relations between our two countries. We can do more and we should do more. I welcomed Austria’s continued and vocal support for #Albania’s EU accession path. The Austrian-led “Friends of the #WesternBalkans” initiative remains an important platform—mobilizing support within the #EU, keeping enlargement high on the agenda, and encouraging steady progress on the reform path.

🇦🇱🇬🇷 Today I had a first, friendly and forward-looking phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of #Greece, Mr. George Gerapetritis. We reaffirmed our commitment to advancing Albanian–Greek relations in a constructive spirit, grounded in our strategic partnership, #NATO Allied solidarity, and a shared #European perspective. The exchange offered a valuable opportunity to review the current state of relations and identify practical ways to further strengthen our cooperation. We agreed on the importance of maintaining a consistent and results-oriented political dialogue, based on mutual respect and genuine partnership, to address outstanding bilateral issues in a constructive and pragmatic manner, and advancing projects that foster good neighborly relations, connectivity, people-to-people contatcs, and regional stability. I underlined the importance of Greece’s continued support for #Albania’s European accession path, a position that Minister Gerapetritis has consistently reaffirmed, and for which we are grateful. Finally, I extended my anticipated warmest wishes on the occasion of the 205th anniversary of Greece’s #NationalDay.

🇦🇱🇺🇦 Just had a meaningful call with Andrii Sybiha @andrii_sybiha, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. As #Russia’s full-scale aggression against #Ukraine enters its fifth year, I reiterated Albania’s strong condemnation of the continued violations of international and international humanitarian law, including the repeated attacks against Ukraine’s civilian population and critical infrastructure. #Albania remains unwavering in its support for Ukraine’s freedom, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as for accountability, a just and lasting peace, and Ukraine’s European future. 🇦🇱🇺🇦 We reaffirmed our shared commitment to further deepen Albania–Ukraine relations through close cooperation, advancing our respective #European paths and contributing to peace, stability, and security across #Europe. I look forward to welcoming Minister Sybiha in Albania at the Ukraine–South-East Europe Foreign Ministers’ Meeting we are organizing in June, in #Tirana.

We welcome the decision to finally lift all EU measures against #Kosova. This step was long overdue and confirms Kosova’s commitment to #European values, the rule of law, and constructive regional cooperation. Today’s decision opens the way for full and unimpeded access to EU funds, assistance and overall cooperation. It helps rebuild trust, and reinforces the credibility of the EU integration process. Advancing Kosova’s European path—including by examining without delay its application for EU #candidate status, will contribute to a more stable and secure region. It will also reconfirm and reinforce the European perspective of all #WesternBalkan countries.
