So happy to see how #NaturalHistory is coming back to the (journals) spotlight again! 👏Taking advantage of the recent initiative of @Biotropica to launch a new paper category — Natural History Notes—, here's a 🧵on other outlets available for similar types of papers 👇

Impressive to see how quickly this initiative went from idea to reality. Fills a very important gap in removing financial barriers for students! @BehavEcol @MarieHerberstei @CatMYoung @mkasumovic @HannahMRowland @JohannaMappes @cpaintingnz @ke_cain @lizard_lab @williamefeeney

Obligatory published paper tweet! This ones not that obligatory as I'm really proud of this one. @StickmanBraxton, @MBulbert and I throw out some fun and freaky hypotheses about crazy stick insect eggs! I hope this leads so some great new research - link.springer.com/article/10.100…

I submitted a fellowship application today, and I’m REALLY proud, regardless of the outcome. I’m endlessly thankful to my amazing friends/colleagues who provide so much support. I’m still in this game because you make all this *gestures to everything* worth it

Common and beautiful, Tortoise Beetles can be found on creeping vines in coastal areas, some have metallic colours. They have interesting behaviour as larvae, where they cover themselves with their own faeces and old moults as a form of protection. This is called a faecal shield.
