It is ironical that Africa has a global reputation of a basket of rich cultures and traditions, yet the continent is struggling from an accute values shortage. She is now importing values! What is it about the "rich culture" that fails to conduct "rich values?"

When being a good person is no longer a recognized ambition, do not ask why there's so much evil in the world.

A country must intentionally nurture a development-friendly value system. To leave the value system to personal initiatives exposes a grand blind spot. A leader who does not prioritize the value of values is unfit because positive progress in any form is values driven.

A timid church betrays the resurrection. Resurrection pumps Christians with confidence. They become official peddlers of hope. The type of hope is unlike the popular positive thinking. It is a hope powered by resurrection thinking.

Politicians are essentially vote-hunters. Where votes are they go. The church is one among many suitors to pursue. Their many visits to churches aren't marks of devotion but interactions with a low-lying fruit they'd not want to miss out on! Such are the “spiritics” of politics.

Every time your child asks you a question they are inviting you into their lives to teach them something. To silence the question is to reject the invitation.

Peace is never an accident. It is an outcome. Just like it takes intentional steps to upset it, it takes deliberate steps to set it up. Peace is built, just like it can be broken. Opinion: ow.ly/SvkS50PiZOo

So, on demonstrations, how do we cure the violence factor? How do we cause the hand to lay down the stone and the finger to lift from the trigger - yet still keep the feet matching on the streets? This is a critical question that needs a thorough answer.

Love is the greatest philosophy of governance. The presidency is a great opportunity to exercise it. #SundayThoughts

People associate leadership with wisdom. But it is not always so. Leadership does not insulate against foolishness. Even kings and presidents are susceptible to wisdom droughts. Their elevated positions, unfortunately, grant their foolishness greater visibility.

Whoever taught Kenyan politicians that they should never apologize did them a great disservice.
